Show Name: Prince of Sorrow
Barn Name: Valerian / Val
Gender: Male
Age: 6 years
Halter color: Lavender
Pearl/jewel color (halter): Pale Indigo
Blind in both eyes? If no, what colour is his other eye?: Only one. Other; Lavender
Story: 09-27-2010, a date that will change the whole herd's fate. The child next in line was born. The new upcoming leader.
With awe, his mom and dad gazed down at their little prince who will take over and rule their fellow equines. Mesmerized by his elegance they smiled upon his birth which they have waited so eagerly for. Their son was finally a part of this world.
The same day, the foal's parents decided on calling him Valerian, a name that should bring him strength in times of need.
The herd was in the mood of celebration, everyone happy for the future's leader as they were prancing around in joy.
Everyone, besides one. An older stallion that recently came back from a journey that was forced upon him by the current leader due to being a delinquent and repeatedly breaking the rules. His uncle.

One month after the other passed as time flew and young Val turned into a youngster. Rather quiet, shy and reserved, but with curiosity and spunk once something peaked his interest. It was a day starting not any different from any other, a light breeze carried the scent of the morning, the dew on the flowers still fresh as fog slowly creeped off into the distance. The silver black up and awake with nothing to do. Aimlessly walking around camp, Valerian meet his uncle coming back from patrol. "Greetings, young prince, mind a stroll in the forest?" His voice a calm and deep nicker as he eyed the foal. "M-Momma told me not to go into the forest, it is dangerous.", staggering a little on his legs out of nervousness. "But you are not going alone, I will be by your side at all times." A smile crept onto his muzzle, giving the youngling a light nudge. "A-Alright, if uncle is accompanying me..", finally agreeing, Val trotted after the tall stallion.

A long time passed and the sun already rose above them as they went onwards. "U-Uncle, don't you think we have been walking long enough? I am getting tired." Valerian questioned obviously exhausted. "Just a little further, we are almost there." The Khim replied. "Where are we even going??", with a sigh he kept following. "I can't tell you it is a surprise, you will soon see." A quick answer to silence him. After another short while, the stallion suddenly came to a halt. "Wait here for me, I will just verify something." He ordered with a low neigh, a sneer on his lips as he left the foal behind and made his way up an overhanging rock, taking his time. "B-But uncle!!" Watching him leave, Val became restless as he didn't came back right away. Walking further ahead against what his uncle had told him, he stopped as a huge cave entrance gaped before him. A sudden sound caught his attention and he took a step back as a bear cub pocked its head out, approaching him and cooing. The foal pulled his harks back at the bundle of fur bounding over to him, going round and round in a circle as it chased him playfully.
It was then that a grunt echoed out of the cave and a huge brown bear exited, growling at the young fella. "Whaaa...!!" Spooked and scared, he backed off as the momma-bear released a loud roar and rose to her paws. At a loss, Val didn't know what to do until he heard a voice, "Don't be scared, you will only make her mad.". Searching the source in a haste, the dark Khim spotted the other stallion on the edge of a seemingly cliff. "Uncle, what do I do?!" He whinnied in desperation as the bear came closer. "Fight for your life.", his voice was cold as he observed the situation from up on his perch. "I can't! Save me, uncle, save me!" Neighing and crying the silver black saw the creature draw near, intending to claw him. "Then die. I won't save you." In his icy husky voice he turned and left, disappearing into the forest. "Don't! Uncle, come back!", a high-pitched cry for help before the female slapped him hard, claws racing along his skin and digging into his ankle as Valerian tried to run away with the bearess following up behind.
In pain, hurting and completely drained, the young Khim managed to get away, hiding in bushes before the bear got tired of chasing him away. Not long after a patrol found and picked him up, taking him back to camp where he was nursed. The injury on his ankle never recovering properly, leaving a white mark to remind him of this day.

Years later, Valerian's dad had gotten old and sick, everyone was worried about him, mom especially. By now, he himself was going on patrol as well and what he had to witness one day, let his blood run cold at the scene. His own uncle battling his father before forcing and actively pushing him off a cliff, letting him fall to his death. His whole herd unaware of the fact, only merely mourning his disappearance. But the stallion knew the cruel truth and his uncle too, caught him witnessing his crime. Threatening to kill him as well if he were to tell a soul. Afraid, he kept it a secrect until one fateful night.
"Mom, about dad.. About his death, there is something important I need to tell you. You see, uncle-" Val was cut off sharply as a deep voice spoke up, "Prince Valerian, I have very urgent information I need to discuss with you, could you please met up with me at the Big Oak?" Pressing him to shut up. "Right now, I can't. I will meet you later." With a dismissing flick of his plume he turned his attention back to his mother. "Val, you shouldn't let urgent matters wait, you can talk to me later. Go and discuss with your uncle." The mare spoke softly, giving him a loving nudge to the shoulder.
Meeting at the huge tree, the stallion confronted him. "You were about to spill, we're you not? Don't you remember what I did to your father? I told you, I will kill you if you talk." A steady smirk on his lips as he started circling the younger equine. "You shall receive punishment for even trying, something which will never make you forget your place.". In a blink, the tall Khim reared and came crashing down on his face, a hoof beating right onto his lavender eye before his vision went black and he fell to the ground passing out.

Waking up, the prince had to lean his eyesight was lost in that certain eye. The lie was smoothly covered up by saying a branch had broken down and hit him, making him blind. It was difficult at first for him to handle his sudden deficit, but over time he became used to it. And he had to understand, there was no winning against his uncle.
Evening washed over the land and Valerian was out on patrol near the mountains as a loud hiss hit his ears with an alarming whinny following shortly after. The Khim realized it was the sounds of a battle, as he speeded up to investigate. Halting at the edge of a ledge, the silver black saw a cougar attacking and latching onto a horse, bititng into it furiously. Rearing and releasing a loud neigh, trashing into the air, the mountain lion got spooked and retreated for now. "Help me, Prince, please bring help, I beg you!!" The stallion nickered desperately, having an incredible hard time to breath. A big chunk of flesh missing on his neck, unable to get up, feeling how life left his body. Valerian gazed down at him with pure coldness, his blind eye facing mainly. "Suffer and die for your crimes and sins." With that, the dark Khim turned around and left, cries of pain echoed in the distance before a screech silenced the voice. Without looking back and just squeezing his eyes shut for a mere moment, he continued onwards.

Just a couple months after that, Val decided to leave the herd after choosing a new suitable leader that happened to make his mom happy as well.

Story:
Jealousy is a horrible thing, an emotion that can cause any creature to do something that should not even been thought of. It was jealousy that made me blind, jealously that took away my precious sight as well as the title I had been working towards. I lost my home, my family, everything I knew went up in smoke... all because of jealousy.
I was working my way up, staring from the bottom and training to be a champion. Dressage was my first discipline, though my human did not stop there, I had just started basic horse driving before my sight was taken from me. Competition was jealous of ever improving skills. Owners hated my owners, mares fought over my attention, and stallions always watched me with malice. At times I wished I could vanish from reality, but I had to do best for my owner, my rider and friend, my family. I would not let them down all because of some jealous competition. I worked long and hard, I was halfway to the title we had been working towards when it happened, the jealousy green bug finally overcame the common sense of our competition.
There were three of us in the stable that night, an old stallion now retired from the show ring, and a young gelding who was still in training and had just started showing. We smelt it before we saw it, heard it before it came into view. The sharp smell of smoke and the crackling of flames had us in a panic. The old stallion reared up and let out a ear piercing scream, trying to get the attention of someone, anyone that could let them out of the stalls. The gelding rammed into the gate, kicked at it, and tried to break it down any way possible in his attempt to escape. The sound of crackling flames, and the panicking horses got the attention of a stable hand staying in a building not too far away. I could hears him yelling, could hear him calling for help, then he came into sight, running into the flaming building, heading straight for the stall of the panicking gelding. The latch flipped open, and the gelding bolted past the man, nearly knocking him back, but he did not stop as he made a beeline for the stall door of the older stallion. The stallion stalled for a moment as the man swung open the door, and then he ran out of the barn away from the smoke, raising up a fuss as he left. I felt relief as I saw him running towards me, his arm over his mouth to block the smoke, but any hope I had was shattered as a beam holding up the roof cracked and fell with a crash. He could not get to me, he could not open the stall. I was trapped and the flames were growing in size. I screamed out for help, screamed for anyone to get to me, but the smoke was becoming thicker. I tried to blink it away, tried to cough away the smoke, but my vision was becoming foggier. I squealed again, but it was followed with a fit of coughs. I could hear the sirens outside, I could hear the panicking voice of my owner. I heard voices in the isle and went to the gate, but who knew that would be the worst thing I could do. A loud crack caught my attention, but it was too late, the roof caved before I could jump back far enough.
I felt lightheaded, my vision was extremely blurry, though I could still see misshapen blobs of color. I could barely hear the crackling of the flames, and the sound of the men as they entered the burning stall where I was now laying on the ground. A hand on my neck seemed to guide me, trying to get me to stand up. I was numb, I was confused, I wasn't quite sure what the strange creature wanted from me. I huffed and with an unsteady step, I stood, though my back leg stung with every step. I was confused, I could not remember what was happening, but I knew I needed to go. I could not see where though, everything was dark and fuzzy. The men started to make their way out, coaxing me, and so I followed. I could feel the heat, their voices becoming sharper, and I was suddenly brought back to the realization of what was happening. The barn was on fire. I tried to pick up the pace, but I limped from my stinging leg. I did not stop moving though, the fire becoming a greater problem for me then the sore leg, so I continued to follow the men out of the building. The rope around my neck made me rear in panic, but the calming voice of my owner made me calm down after I nearly knocked her off her feet, and I was led away from the flames and into a pen much further from the chaos.
I felt her slip the halter off my face, and the bruises I received were much more obvious now that I was away from the flames. I limped into the pen, still nervous about the smell of smoke, but my sore muscles and lack of vision still kept me from panicking. "I'm sure you'll be fine after some rest, for now let's take care of these wounds." I believed her, I believed my vision would return after some rest and after my body recovered. I felt her treat my wounds, wrapping my legs and using whatever we still had to deal with the pain. I let her, welcoming her calm voice and gentle touch that made me feel so safe.
My vision did not return, the vet said it never would, the smoke and hit to the head had taken it from me. I could see light, I could see some colors, but it would forever be nothing but shady blurs to me. I will always be marked by that day, the loss of my sight as well as the scar on my hindleg. Jealousy was the cause of the fire, there was proof it was set purposefully, and I was their target. The day my human left for court told me the person was caught, and I was glad, but also sad that they were driven to something so low.
She entered my pen later that night, her voice holding a hint of sadness when she spoke. "They hated us, me for owning you, and you because of how talented and hard-working you are." she spoke. "I'll never forgive them for this. I will never forgive them for hurting you." I held her gentle touch on my neck, and I sighed, listening quietly and patiently as she cried. That was not the only reason she was crying. She knew I could not show again, not after that incident. I would not even go back into the barn, let alone the stables at a show. She sold me, even though she loved me, even though she was my family, she sold me. I did not realize it until I felt the ramp of a trailer beneath my hooves and then the door closed behind me. "Goodbye boy." I heard the pain in her voice, and I tried to pull free of the lead shank keeping me there, but it was no use. The trailer started to move, and I could hear her crying fade away. I cried out, I tried to call to my herd, but it was too late.
Jealousy stole everything from me. First my sight, then my home, then my family. All of it was gone and I was being taken far away. It was a long trip in that trailer, with no clue what my new human was like. I did not know where I was being taken. I only knew that it would never be the same. I felt the trailer slow, and soon it was completely stopped. I tried to listen, tried to guess my surroundings by the sounds I heard outside, but I could not tell. The trailer door opened, and the lead shank untied. I was led out of the trailer and I felt the asphalt change to grass. "It's okay boy, you'll be okay." I heard the gentle words of a woman, as she guided me slowly into a pen and removed the rope from the halter. "Welcome to your new home." I felt her hands on my neck as she rubbed my neck. I knew I had a good human to watch over me, a human that would care for me whether I could see or not. I relaxed as she left and closed the gate behind her, and I slowly explored the pen, finding my way around.

Gender: Male
Age: 10
Halter color: Coppery silver color
Pearl/jewel color (halter):eye color or black which ever you feel looks better
Blind in both eyes? If no, what colour is his other eye?:yes
Story:

Fearless lowered his head to the ground his ears twitched, the creature moved and he waited ever patient for it to strike first, he couldn't tell exactly where it stood but he felt a familiar tension coming from his foe. In a flash the memory came back the light of the sun and the beautiful skies of his homeland.

He remembered the sun setting as he was leading the chieftain to a new land where his people and Nights herd could have prospered, Night knew at that time they had to leave there was a threat coming to him and his family. He watch his own colts raced ahead and play, over jumping small twigs and rocks. Night remembered watching them proudly, feeling so great full for being the leader making sure everyone was safe. It was just after the thought he heard a war cry, knowing it wasn't from his people before Night could even look around they where ambushed. He felt the chieftain shift his weight and dismount, followed by the feeling of someone else mounting the chieftain's son. Night wasn't sure what was happening now he watch the chieftain walked out from by his side to stand in front of him, he began talking to their chieftain who just shook his head. There was a long silence after that, Night could feel the young rider grip tighten on the rains he was going to give the command to run somehow he knew but he could not leave them all behind. Coward, he thought rearing up and breaking the silence and starting the great battle. Night tried to pull away from the boy, he had to protect his colts and mares, But the boy grip was strong and he forced Night to turn his head away from the herd. He planned to spin back around, fight with all he had but it was in that moment the unforgettable swish of something flying towards him, the world vanished in a red haze and Night could not control himself the pain in his face was so unbearable. Tossing his body wildly, trying to shake the feeling somehow make the pain stop, he felt a hard kick in his sides and his whole body jerked forward before launching into a full speed gallop.

Night huffed still unfamiliar to his lack of sight, the creature spoke and he quickly realized it was just the boy. He let his musicales relax and the tension to leave his body, he still couldn't see and was quite certain now he would never again be able to. He sensed the boy moving closer, he could feel his presence next to him, he couldn't resist the jolt that passed threw him as the boy began to pat him on the neck, the tone of his voice was comforting and it made Night realize how tired he was. He wanted to rub his head against the boy but he felt him touch the thing(arrow) and pulled away as searing pain filled his head. He could hear the boy trying to calm him once again but he kept swinging his head around making the pain worse. He bolted from the boys side running blindly in the forest, he was tripping, hitting trees and bushes, as he was running he felt the ground give way he was falling. he felt the wooden polls hit him and as pain filled Night once again, he passed out.

He awoke to familiar sounds, he felt no pain yet could not open his eyes. He knew he had been right before, his eyes where gone forever he would never be able to see again. The feeling of uselessness and shame washed over him he felt he had abandoned his family, he could have fought off the boy he sound have just kicked him off, The things he should have done filled his head and he decided he would try to go for a walk in an attempt to clear his thoughts. With a big huff he stood turning his head from side to side trying to listen for something familiar, hesitantly he took a step forward followed by another. He walked steadily not sure where to go, he kept walking and it seemed and if no one was stopping him till he hit his knee on a post. No wonder he thought its fenced in. He walking along the fence, he wondered what it would be like here lowering his head he sniffed the earth. the grass smell long healthy and sweet and he couldn't resit taking a nibble. "Hello" said a soft spoken voice which made him jerk, he had not sensed her at all.. why? "the others tell me you are blind as well" The mare continues. As well? he pondered her words before repeating "as well? do you mean that you also cant see? what happened to you?"
"Yes and nothing actually i was born blind, my name is Sunny"
"Born blind" he couldn't resist repeating her words again, he had only been blind for what felt like 2 days and he couldn't stand it, "oh sorry my name is Night"
"Its okay, Its definitely not easy being blind but over time your other senses will grow stronger and it wont be so much of a challenging to get around, let me show you around"
"Wait but your blind, shouldn't we get someone to come with us at least just in case..." he couldn't fathom how she got around without tripping or crashing into anything and he really didn't want to end up in another pit.
"Oh no of course not. Its really is simple when you get the hang of it! Ill help you Night i promise" he could hear her hoofs beat the earth as she turn and felt her tail whip his side. "come on, ill introduce you to everyone" He began following her right away trying to keep track of the direction she was going, he caught his hoof on a root and tripped. "just takes some getting used too" he reminded himself ;taking a deep breath, he continued to walk forward.

Aw man I didn't see him until today. Instant connection. I used to dream of creating my own breed that looks exactly like him.
