why are they sad/unhappy?
Have you ever been so enamored with a book that, once it is over...You simply lay there and think about the book?
Kellina is a book lover, fantasy and scifi being her absolute most favorite topics. A journey through some magnificent land, forming relationships, making enemies, and resolving conflicts. Or, simply trying to survive. The where and when are not exactly important, nor is the how and why. All that matters is the steady turn of pages, the musty smell of books, the images of magnificent places roaming through her head. Dragons, angels, mermaids, aliens, fairies, beasts of all shapes and sizes. These things get her through the day, get her through the night. Her very spirit longs for books, and when she has one in paw that she falls in love with, it is almost impossible to put it down. But once that book is over....what is she left with? Memories...a story she will never forget. Characters she had fallen in love with, and sometimes refers to as if they were actually real. She never views herself as being lonely, not when she has a book to read. Others are so very hard to read, she misunderstands them, or can not figure out what they want from her, books are so, so much easier to deal with. They never judge her, mistreat her, or outright ignore her.
It is with great sorrow that she closes a book, finishes a chapter. Bittersweet, in truth, for she is happy to have met, and read, of the characters within, but sorry for their meeting to come to an end. Sometimes, she will pick the story up again, and again, and again. But always....when she closes the book after finishing it. She faces a sorrow that leaves her almost paralyzed. She will lay on her bed, or on the floor, or wherever she happens to be at the moment. Place the book upon her chest and close her eyes. Replaying the story in her mind. Sometimes she will actually cry, so moved by a story she loved. Her shelves are packed full of her beloved books, surrounded by their stories that she holds close to her heart. So...to answer your question once more...
Books....books are the reason.
