He has not once found himself romantically attracted to anybody else, male, female, or otherwise; this has lead many to believe that he's just not interested in love, which isn't all that hard to believe. However, he does want an heir for the sheer purpose of perhaps passing on his umbrakinetic abilities. Unknown to everybody but him, he's only physically able to have one child.

♦ personality;; Corrupt, sombre, and intelligent, Umbre makes for a perfect creature of the night. With his shadow powers and his personality combined, he's enough to send any lesser creature running for the hills, a fact which, unfortunately for those on his bad side, he doesn't like anything better than to repetitively prove. Through ominous speech, a bleak demeanour and morbid thoughts, he proved to be almost completely unemotional to everyone around him; in fact, many claim that not once has he evr smiled, laughed, or betrayed any of his feelings to anybody else.

Grimmor is known for his demonic personality. He is very sly and cunning. He can get by with anything and has a way of taking people down with just his words. Sometimes he can take them down with just his appearance. He is very antisocial so being around others practically disgusts him. He loves his alone time and solitude. He does not fear others. He does not fear really anything... accept the color pink... But that's a different matter. He just hates other people. Besides that, He can be calm but is usually more on the insane side when it comes to being alone and free. He usually laughs evilly when he is alone to make the solitude more fulfilling. Many do not know of his insane and wild side since he only shows it when he is alone. Many find him very mysterious and hard to understand. Most actually fear him since he is a shadow. And he will always be one with the shadows



Born and raised from the darkness of shadows, Grimmor has never experienced a life with family and love. He actually has no idea what love is and prefers to never find out. His solitude and hate for others make sure that love is never a possibility. He learned how to hunt and grow from his own experience. He was smart enough to stalk others from the darkness and learn visually how to find prey and survive. When he was a young pup, Grimmor had an imaginary friend, who was his own shadow. Grimmor would spend hours playing tag since he could never catch his friend, his own shadow. He tried racing him, but that was an even worse game. Grimmor lost interest in the games and ended up just talking to his shadow about everything. The first time he talked to his shadow in public made others give him odd looks and a scene was created. Grimmor was extremely embarrassed and has hated others ever since. He finds his solitude less stressful and more care free to be whatever he wants to be. No one can judge him when he's alone. He grew up alone, but completely content. Grimmor loves to stalk and trick others during his free time. Even though he doesn't like them, tricking them always makes him laugh... Evilly of course. Grimmor's past is not very much since he grew up with very little. One cannot have a detailed background when they are left to live with no one and grow with nothing. But this has made him strong and wise. He is a quick learner because of this which allows him to adapt to things very quickly. Grimmor does not see his life as tragic in any way. He enjoys his way of living and wouldn't have it any other way.

personality ;; Harland is a bit like a child trapped in an adult's body. He is extremely troublesome and mischievous, using his abilities to aid him in his pranks and tricks and rule-breaking. He tends to gossip with those who talk to him, so you can understand that he is horrible at keeping secrets. He really wants attention, and easily becomes jealous, especially if someone is in the spotlight longer than him. He's generally easy to upset in general, and doesn't know how to deal with his own emotions. He also really wants friends. He just doesn't exactly know how to go about doing it. His jealous really only kicks in around friends - who he will sometimes stalk in the shadows to see what's going on - so it doesn't happen that often, as he doesn't have many. His emotions tend to change quickly like a child's, so while he is easily upset, he's also easy to make happy again.
love ;; Harland is like all other creatures. He longs for love, which would make sense since he has a constant need and want for friends. His personality tends to hinder this though. However, he doesn't just want friends. He wants somebody who will love him for who he is, and not make him change. He wants a girl who really, truly likes him.
children ;; Harland loves children in general. However, he often scares them with his appearance, which saddens him. After all, he gets along very well with the few children who can see past his scariness. If he ever finds someone who will love him and if he ever marries, he would love to have children of his own. He wants to have more than one, so you could understand his disappointment when he found out he would only ever have one. So, he's come to the conclusion that adopting may also work, if the child was young enough not to be horrified by his appearance.

occupation ;; Harland does shadow puppet shows for a living. He travels about to nearby towns (close enough that he can make it back the same day) and will put on shows with his shadow bending powers. He tends to not stick around, putting a hat out to get money in and then staying hidden till everyone is gone. He knows actually seeing him would make others go away, especially children, so staying hidden is better.

relationship with helena ;; At first, Helena tried to see past Harland's looks, and had a lot of trouble with it. He just seemed so...Creepy looking. She felt bad that she thought of him this way, and so she tried to make up for it by being friends with him. She wasn't sure exactly how she views him - whether he was her friend or not - but Harland understood that he scared Helena. He never said it out loud, but it did often make Helena guilty, as she didn't want to be afraid of Harland. They did hang out quite a bit, but Helena had issues relaxing around him. She also tended to stress out when he was dissolving and fading, but Harland seemed to take enjoyment out of taking up her attention when they hang out. He liked to sink into the darkness and freak her out, only to reappear a few seconds later, although he'd get heavily reprimanded for it later. He made sure to not let his paint go anywhere near her though, as because she was kind of his friend, he didn't want her to be scared by that, especially because she might never hang out with him again if that happened. However, Helena and Harland do get along pretty well because they both act rather young for their age, although Harland more so. They have a better relationship now, with Helena affirming that they are friends, and she is always willing to hang out. Harland still likes to disappear and reappear on her, and Helena is still easily worried about him. Harland definitely likes to take up Helena's time and attention though, probably because of his want and need for love in some form, whether it be from friendship, actual love, or family love.
relationship with jordan ;; Jordan is honestly extremely freaked out by Harland. The little guy can not see past Harland's looks, and does his best to hide from him and avoid him. The few times Harland tried to talk to him, the pup just let out terrified squeaks and scurried off to find his mother. Harland ended up giving up the notion of befriending the pup, and tends to try and stay away from him, as he doesn't want to scare him anymore than he already has.
relationship with kadyn ;; Harland, like with most pups, finds that he frightens Kadyn. This upsets him, because he doesn't want to upset the poor girl, and has discovered that she is shy. So, he's tried starting up a few conversations, but those just seem to end badly. He'd like to try and make more progress in order to befriend her, as unlike Jordan he thinks maybe he can actually be friends with Kadyn. However, he may have to give her some space till she grows a bit older.
relationship with mortimer ;; Mortimer and Harland don't get along all that well. This is probably partly because some of Harland's best hiding spots are in the graveyard, and partly because Mortimer doesn't really approve of Helena's friendship with the immature rule-breaker. Harland generally just avoids him, unless he's playing a prank in the graveyard again.
relationship with lycan ;; Harland has a rather similar relationship with Lycan as the one he has with Lycan's father, Mortimer. The forest in the park he is a park ranger at is another wonderful spot to freak people out at, and Lycan doesn't appreciate this. Harland sometimes purposefully targets him though, as Helena has been bullied by him on a few different occasions. Harland is very loyal to his friendship with Helena, and has decided it is his duty to help get back at Lycan in any way he can.
relationship with desmond ;; Desmond is another one of the Rainbow Paint Wolves Harland can't stand. This is mainly because Harland was once chased by the reckless Desmond after playing a prank on him. The teen viewed it as being brave and was probably trying to prove himself to someone, but Harland viewed it as being annoying.
relationship with cirius ;; Cirius isn't really a Rainbow Paint Wolf that Harland wants to be around. Not only does Cirius remind him about his son Jordan, who fears him, but the curiosity of the doctor frightens Harland. Cirius' experimenting inspires an almost child-like fear in Harland, as you can imagine all the horrible thoughts Harland could have about being tested on.
relationship with lafayette ;; Lafayette is one of the many Rainbow Paint Wolves who was on the receiving end of Harland's pranks. Considering Lafayette's fear of the dark, Harland's prank turned out even better than imagined. Well, for Harland anyways.
relationship with galadriel ;; Galadriel is one of the few people Harland did not enjoy pranking. She was extremely angry when Harland pulled a prank on her, and Harland had to get out of there fast. He tries to avoid Galadriel now.
relationship with edwyn ;; Edwyn tends to be on Harland's prank list. This is mainly because Helena has complained about him, and Harland has decided that Edwyn is a bully. Of course, he never actually had a conversation with Edwyn. However, he tends to base his opinions on others around what Helena tells him about them if he's never met them, and that's good enough for him.
relationship with maurice ;; Harland scared Maurice once, and loved the reaction he got from it. However, Helena found out and was very upset over it. She made him promise never to scare Maurice again since he already has nightmares. Not wanting to lose one of his only friends, Harland somewhat sulkily obliged. He hasn't seen Maurice since.
relationship with alfonso ;; Alfonso is one of the few children that doesn't seem to be afraid of Harland. Harland likes this, but being around Alfonso does kind of worry him, as he doesn't know how to answer his questions about what he can do. He has found that his scare tactics don't really seem to scare Alfonso and instead seemed to intrigue the genius, so he gave up trying to scare the pup a long time ago.
relationship with periwinkle ;; Despite the fact that Harland scares Periwinkle, Harland really likes the pup. He likes her troublesome ways, and hopes maybe when she's older she won't judge him anymore and will maybe be his friend.
