✖ᴘᴇʀsoɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ;;✖Maximus is generally quiet, and prefers to be left alone to his own devices. It can take a long time to get him to reply to anything you say to him, and when he does, it will usually be a very short, blunt response. He tends to hold a grudge, and will ignore you until you apologize, which could be weeks after you upset him. He has an incredibly good memory; he can recount his whole life story in incredible detail, as if he has it all written down in his head. In dressage competitions, his memory serves him well. He can recount each step that he has to do, then memorize the order they have to be in.
Due to his troubled past, he is mistrusting of humans. He associates them with pain, to tends to avoid them as much as he can. He cans even be aggressive with them, and will bite if provoked. It takes a patient rider to even have a chance of approaching him. If you do manage to tack him up, he has a lot of fight in him and will usually rear up and try to throw the rider off.
He is the only member of the herd that doesn't shy away from the danger of snakes, and when they threaten to hurt anyone he simply pounds the ground a few times with his hoof. That is usually enough to drive the creatures away. The ranch where he was born was located in a desert, so Maximus is used to the snakes. He also has a pretty high tolerance when it comes to heat, and loves to run and play in the sand.

After being bitten by Maximus, one of the older children pulled out a sharp knife and sliced his tongue with it. The cut was so large that it never fully sealed, and because Maximus was still a young horse, it healed quickly, giving his tongue a forked appearance.

name: Nuclear Meltown // Chernobyl
gender: stallion
halter color: something like this
Story
Chernobyl was just a young foal when he heard the sound of a building the collapsing far in the distance and then the blaring of sirens. Him and his mother had lived just outside of Chernobyl for, well since he was born, and because of it's nuclear factory and the economic stability it had brought to their owners and really the whole town, for it only existed becasue of that place, he was named after it. So as the sirens blared and he cried to his mother asking what was happening, all of a sudden having a name like Chernobyl no longer meant you were good fortune or really good in general. In all honesty Chernobyl's name became his burden.
Chernobyl's mother ran to the gate and pawed waiting for their owners to come and help them escape, but when their owners came out of their house in their paniced state, did not care about the horses they were leaving behind they only cared about themselves. This was the day that Chernobyl decided that humans were never going to be any good for horses because what he learned that day was, wherever humans go, death will surely follow.
As he and his mother stood there watching the people who had once cared for them drive away to safety and freedom, they knew something was happening. At this point Chernobyl's mother decided to start finding a way out becasue she could not sit and wait and possibly watch her one and only foal die in front of her. She went into a frenzy trying to kick the gate open and with enough blows eventually did, so off she set little Chernobyl by her side trying his best too keep up but feeling a weird sensation coming over his body, which made it harder and harder to go on. You see both were slowly dying thanks to the poison in the air, but little Chernobyl, as I have said, little and the poisoning worked much faster in little bodies. Quite quickly the little foal tired unti lhe could barely move and had to lie down, while his mother tried to urge him to go on. Sadly, Chernobyl tried to get up, but his weak little legs could not hold him up and he collapsed, now his mother could have left him there to slowly die, but what kind of mother would she have been then? So she nuzzled her foal one last time befor stepping out into the road, waiting for a car to see her, a car did see her, but a haze had settled over the city, and it applied the brakes too late, as the people got out to inspect the mare they heard the weak cries of her foal, and went to Chernobyl instead, they knew they could try to save him, for his mother's sake they would most definitely try. So the two of them loaded the foal into the back of their car and off they drove. Once they made it out of the danger zone they brought Chernobyl to the vet's where he was looked after, while they got them selves checked out at a local hospital. The following days his coat changed colours to what it is now, all anyone can assume is that it was one of the affects of the radiation poisoning that had almost killed him. It has also lead to a slight glow that comes off of him but that is hardly visible by anyone who isn't looking for it. That day, Chernobyl will never foget, for it was the day he learned of the evil that man can do and the destruction that follows them.
Personality: Chernobyl is a broken horse, some would say, not in the sense that he is ridable but in the sense that he is mentally broken, but after hearing his story don't you think you might be too? He get's enraged very easily, and most definitely detests humans in general, however we are working on that quality of his. In the rare moments that he is calm he can be found with his fellow tolters, quite close to them becasue it is a comfort that he rarely had as a foal due to the lose of his mother. Chernobyl can be a rather explosive tolter when it comes to him rage and the showing of other emotions, which is sometimes entertaining to watch if it is excitement or overjoy, he basically jumps around in circles for a good five minutes until he notices that humans are watching. Then he stops turns and glares at you before stalking away. The one problem that is really a problem is his destructive nature, most days we are repairing his stall in some way becasue if he gets frustrated or just wants to take it out on something he will either take it out on his stall or the fences around our farm becasue it is less likely to hurt another horse, which he cares deeply about.
