what little boy doesn't love his momma?
but bran has an unusually strong bond with tango. when he
was having difficulties with early vocalisation, he bonded strongly
with her over learning to sign. they would play games that helped bran learn the different words, and while he would get frustrated when he had to read,
he always loved spending time with his mummy. when he began
developing an interest in music, that was an important
point in their relationship. sweet tango helped bran come out from behind his anxiety through his music. bran trusts his mother completely.

He snuggled down into her pouch, paint brush clutched to his chest. This is how most of their lazy afternoons went, Tango would make him grilled cheese squares and together they would sit at the dining room table, various bouts of art supplies dumped in front of them. They would play games as they painted, doodled, and ate their lunch. Today, they played the question game. "If you could be any animal, what would you be?" Aspen would pipe through a mouth full of grilled cheese, a bright smile on his face as his little paws darted across the paint-splattered page in front of him. He would nod enthusiastically at her answer then proceed to give his, "I'd be...a rhino. Everyone think's they're meanies but I think they're just shy, like me." His mother smiled at the answer, nodding in approval. Aspen has always been shy and reserved. It isn't that he doesn't like talking to others, he just didn't know how. Thats why he always seemed to cling to his mother in the company of others, she was his security blanket. When the sandwiches had been finished and the painting had come to an end, his yawns would begin as Tango washed the dishes and Aspen washed the paint brushes. He was such a stickler for cleanliness, and what mother can complain about that? Nap time has always been one of their favorites. Tango often settles down on the couch to read, watch a movie, or sometimes just relax while Aspen burrowed himself into her pouch, sleeping peacefully as he clung to his favorite toy: a plain, wooden paint brush. And today was no different, the safety of her pouch enveloped him and all was well. Tango and Aspen's relationship has always been like this, trusting. Aspen is by all means a mommy's boy, always excited to show her his most recent work of art or newest craft. He could talk hours on end to her about the simplest things: something he saw at kindergarden that day, which Disney movie is the best, or what kind of pet he is dying to have that day. He was comfortable with her. When meeting new beans, he always stayed in her pouch before finding courage within her to say hello, and maybe even converse with them. He's always required a kiss before bed and great big good morning hug before getting ready for the day. Their life together is not hectic, nor loud. It's filled with soft giggles, bright eyes, and plenty "I love you's."

From the moment Aspen was born, he always has had the affinity for holding his mother's hand, when he first hatched, he clung to her thumb for the first few hours. When she comes to pick him up from school, he always darts to her, wide smile, laugh on his lips, as he jumps into her arms. After a kiss and an "I missed you," he happily marches to the car, holding on to her hand like a ballon that'll float away if you let it go. In the back yard during the summer, they often spend Sunday's in the flower bed scouring for lady bugs before retreating to the shade of the trees to enjoy popsicles and a bit of coloring. Valentines day's are always spend cutting and coloring cards for friends and loved ones, Aspen has always helped Tango make Starburst the best Valentine possible, always adorned with glitter and heart shaped stickers. The evening before Easter Sunday, Aspen meticulously decorates eggs with his parents, only finally handing them over when they pinky promise to be careful with them. Aspen's relationship with his mother is filled with art, hugs, and adventure. He needs her more than he could ever imagine.

He sat quietly at his hip, Aspen waiting for his father's attention as Starburst flipped through the letters, both gathered at the mail box. It was Saturday, which meant Papa-Aspen day started in just a couple minutes. "Any mail for me?" Aspen chirped, trying to peer over his father's hands to look at the stack of mail. "Mhmmm, you've got some bill's to pay, 'Spen." Starburst chuckled patting the top of his sons head with the envelopes. Aspen giggled as he took his dad's hand and together they marched back into the house, ready to get dressed for the day. "What are we doing today, Papa?" Aspen asked as he slipped on his sneakers, his father pulling on his jacket. "Building a birdhouse for the robin's in the back yard. It's gonna get cold soon, and they need a warm place for the winter, right?" he chimed as he held out his hand for his son. After getting Aspen buckled up in to his car seat and playing Make This Lead, the two were of to the hardware store. As the two paraded through the isles, Aspen marveled at the walls of paint swatches. Once they had gotten the wood and screws, Starburst had let Aspen choose the colors to paint the house, and of course, he chose three shades of blue, ranging from baby to navy, and white. "It's gonna be dark and snowy," Aspen said as he strained to carry along one of the cans of paint, "so they're gonna want a bright blue sky." Back at home, the two were camped out in the garage, Starburst hammering away as he assembled the house, Aspen sitting atop the work bench, juice pouch in hand. "Can I paint now?" "Not yet." "Now?" "Nope." "Now?" "Nu-uh." "Now?" "Ah, no." "Now?" "Yep!" Starburst chimed, holding up the bird house for Aspen to see. And together they sad at the picnic table in the backyard, newspaper scattered around them as they painted the house together. "No Papa, you gotta hold your brush like this!" Aspen squealed as Starburst began to help him paint the clouds.

And this is how they spent their Saturdays: building, fixing, creating. Aspen is by no means athletic, but despite is lack of ability to throw a football, or make a basket, he try's to his best abilities to make his father proud. If he cannot hit a baseball, he'll make an origami version for his dad to put on in his study, on football Sunday's he'll gladly help momma make football-shaped pancakes and decorate them with chocolate chips. But there is one competition they have come to love: paper airplanes. When Aspen began paper mache and origami, Starburst sat at the table with his son as frustrated tears rolled down Aspen's cheeks. "I can't do it." he mumbled, setting down the mess of folded paper in front of him. His father simply smiled and folded a paper airplane before tossing it gently to Aspen. The boy sniffled, wiping his tears as he gazed down at the plane. "What's this?" he hiccuped, picking it up to examine it. "Something I know you can do." his father replied, sliding the stack over to him. And that night they sat through dinner, folding paper airplanes, seeing who's could fly the highest and who's could go furthest. They tucked the mache and origami books away for another day as they enjoyed their new "sport." This is how their relationship goes, Aspen does everything he can to make his dad proud of him, to make up for his lack of ability to participate in Starburst's interests, whether is be painting soccer balls, handing him the wrench to fix the sink, or helping him wash the car. Aspen will always happily follow his father, holding on tightly to his hand, as they take off to their new adventure.

Username: Hello I'm nobody special, nor anybody to truly recognize so you probably haven't heard of me. well I'm a young girl going into middle school and have been in cs for only 1 year. I've been interested in JBDs since probably 6 months ago and am a bit new to making forms. I'm a non-owner struggling against the amazing writers and artists that are interested in the same beans! however i struggle on, so i hope you enjoy my little ensemble!
Name: Cleo, however he does have a full name which is Cleotandir but he hates that name so everyone calls him Cleo.
Relationship with Parents:
Cleo is one of those kids that reads a lot and stays in their rooms. however this isn't out of being socially awkward or unsocial actually cleo loves people! and his family for that matter. but he feels a little disconnected with his parents at times, being obsessed with reading people's fortunes and all. That doesn't stop him from loving his parents, both starburst and tango love him and he does as-well but his books are an obsession and reading people's fortunes are too. i guess that gets in the way most of the times.
I know some kids have "favourite" parents but cleo thinks that kind of weird, see cause ever since he was born he has loved his parents equally, yes sometimes he can fancy a certain parents but that's only for a day or two.

~ Please Don't Take My Sunshine Away ~ Martin Brews

Postby diplocaulus » Sat Aug 02, 2014 6:54 pm

Image

Hello, my username is Charin, and you can call me Char if you wish

ImageImage
The name I have chosen for this bean is Martin Brews <insert ship name if there is one here>. If the owners of the parents wish for the ship name to be the surname, that is fine as well ;). Yes, his name is a reference to the lovable Martin Brewer from 7th Heaven, and I intend to have him share some defining traits with him, but he is not an exact copy. Martin is his own unique bean, with a small inheritance (for a word that would best describe) from a lovable 90s-2000s television show.
.

Image

Tango, the creative parent, (otherwise known as the "fun" parent too) has insistently set about installing a sense (AT LEAST a sense) of appreciation for the fine (and refined) arts. She, being an exceedingly creative bean, has made it her sole goal to introduce him to some form of art that he will know and love for the rest of his life (as he is her son, and simply must have some little love of art buried inside of him. So far, she has introduced him to everything she has at her disposal that is age appropriate, meaning finger-paints, glue, Crayola pencils, some small canvas painting, and simply scribbling his mind down on paper. So far though, none of these visual arts have caught his taste, but he does seem to have imagination. To Tango's delight, he does have some artistic talent, Martin is a writer by nature. He loves to write down his thoughts, stories, and observations (in horrible penmanship and spelling, of course) and has gone about the task of creating little books for Tango and Starburst to read to him before bed. So far, the stories are a tad crud, rustic in nature, being simply paper taped together with words scrawled in the worst grammar possible on the sheets. Usually, the stories are 9 pages long with maybe 2 sentences on each page, but they are Tango's pride and joy. She keeps all of his stories in a little box under her bed, but don't tell him that quite yet.
Despite her love of his talent, she does occasionally feel remorse about the fact that he has more athletic talent than artistic (despite his writer skills, he is poor in other mediums). You see, Martin is a baseball playing bean. He might be young, but his love of the sport is great. He will likely grow up to play it through high school, and maybe even college. Tango disapproves of this (only out of envy though) but she enjoys going to his games and being his #1 fan for the moment.
Martin also learned a love of peace from Tango also. He is a simplistist, a person who learns/can get by without things that others claim they "need". He learned how even the most simple things can be important, and this is a lesson he is going to carry with him for the rest of his life.
Snuggling up close to his mother, his tears dampening her fur and her tears dampening his. "Mummy, I don't mean to upset you. I really don't, but I love it. The exhilaration, the speed, the intensity, it's, well, liberating. I love the sport." Martin, from his 6 year old point of view, could not quite grasp why his mother had all of a sudden began crying upon seeing him with his ball and glove, playing in the front yard with his father. She whispered in his ear some not understandable words that he would at a later age come to understand and fully appreciate, but this was not that age. He told his mother that he loved her many times, and reassured her that he would keep writing despite his new hobby.
"I... don't quite like the fact that you now play a sport, but I suppose I can live with it." Tango gave a slight grin, and while hugging her son made a shaky eye contact with her apologetic mate standing a few yards away.
"I won't stop writing, I love the stories. They.. ah... are like whole new worlds? Worlds we can't quite touch or see in real life, yet we know about. Worlds in which we are god-like, being the creator of everything in which it is. Worlds that are ours to share." And with this statement from her son, Tango immediately felt incredibly better. She mouthed to her husband "He's not lost yet," and gave a long sigh of relief. Her son was, and always would be a writer.
Image

Starburst, matter of fact, was the one who set Martin about playing baseball. Originally meant as a "father-son" activity (as Starburst was a tad jealous that Tango got to play with Martin all the time) to prevent Martin from being titled as a "mommy's boy" (hint, sarcastic undertones), and to his surprise, the sport stuck. His father, also, is most of the time Martin's source of emotional balance. Starburst always (seemingly almost always) can manage to calm Martin down, in a way that usually leads him to do the morally right thing in almost every situation. Martin has always felt able to come to his father to discuss anything with him, and feels invinately better about anything once telling his father. Even Martin's darkest secrets, have been told to Starburst. Upon confessing to his father that instead of going by Martin at school he went by his middle name, Brews, Starburst's calm and pleasing response made him feel better than before, which was a state of dreading the moment when his parents found out that his teachers barely knew his first name. Martin gets his quiet and respectful personality from his father, which also has the trait of being concerned with problems, yet very resourceful at solving them.
"Dad, I have something to tell you, and I need you to be understanding if you can please," stuttered out the small, youthful Martin to his tall bright father. Starburst nodded, symbolizing that his son should feel free to tell him anything he felt necessary.
"I like to be called Brews, and no one at school calls me Martin.
Starburst smiled slightly, and gave an understanding nod. "Do you perfer being called Brews, son?"
      Martin nodded many, many times.
"Well then Brews, nice to meet you," Starburst said laughingly, giving Martin the sign that it was completely fine to indulge in this nickname.
"Just don't forget that you are Martin though, ok?"
