Is palomino a breed?
Paliminos are classified as a color breed. Color breed refers to groupings of horses whose registration is based primarily on their coat color, regardless of the horse's actual breed or breed type.
Palomino is a colour, but there are breeds that never exhibit it (Arabian breed registries for instance do NOT recognise it, Thoroughbreds exhibit it rarely and Andalusian registries can't agree with each other) and breeds that have it quite frequently (a lot of American breeds, like the Quarter Horse and the Missouri Fox Trotter). Palomino comes from one of the dilution genes, the cream gene.
Thus, Palimino is a color
What colour are Haflinger horses? Haflinger horses are always chestnut in color, but not all Haflinger horses look the same. They have diffrent shades, but yes, all are chestnut colored.
Whats the difference between cremello and perlino?
A Cremello horse will have a WHITE mane and tail, just as a palomino would. Some Cremellos have hair coats which are so pale that their body will look just as white as their mane and tail, while others are more markedly cream colored.
While a Perlino will have mane, tail, and "points" that are DARKER than thier body hair coat, like a buckskin would. But instead of being black, these darker areas are usually rust or orange hued.
Gene-wise, Cremello is a double creme gene on a red base (meaning chestnut), and a Perlino is a double creme gene on a bay base (meaning, well, bay lol this given that there is Agouti working in connection with the horse's black base--whether it be heterozygous or homozygous).
