It's nearing the end of a long, long year, and you decide to see if you could savour a nice coffee or two, and all that really comes to mind is that new cafe all the umikuri have been hitting up recently. On your way there, you spot a wild Hoyo! And he's currently attempting to lug a big sack of coffee beans up a small hill.
They notice you staring and quickly hop over, abandoning his sack of beans to talk to you.
"Hi! Are you busy right now?" he asks you. "Me and An could really use your help!"
You wonder who An is, until you notice another umikuri making his way down the hill. Hey, it's the surly shopkeep! He tsks at the abandoned bean bag before turning his attention to you and Hoyo, the latter smiling sheepishly. "Hey, I was working! But I was asking my friend for help with the party," he chirps, patting your shoulder once. "Wouldn't it be better for more hands on deck An?" he asks cheerily.
Shopk- An thinks for a moment, and nods. "It'd be useful. We do need more hands in the kitchen. Would you be down to help me and Hoyo throw a New Years party? We just need help baking pastries, and we'd definitely reward you for your time. Pastries and drinks and stuff?"
Well, you wouldn't turn down the opportunity for pastries and drinks would you? The treats at this cafe are rumored have the ability to change the aspects of umikuri, and some even rumored to rarely grant MYO slots!
Welcome to the opening event for umikuris! There's a couple of raffles to be had, new cafe umikuris to make friends with and even a chance to earn a special currency to buy the brand new items with before they officially hit the shelves!!
