PSITHURISM
squirrel sat perched atop one of the three wooden buildings located at the midst of camp, her slitted eyes narrowed as her gaze darted around. the snow began to cling to her fur, and the she-cat quickly shook it off before it was able to melt and drip towards her skin. as it began to get colder, she was glad for their shelters, and she knew the others felt similarly, although a few despised the two-legs' structures. they wouldn't be complaining if they realized how harsh it could get without them. the feline's ears twitched at a distant, indistinguishable noise, and she soon stood, casting one last glance around before hopping from the rooftop and moving to investigate.
elsewhere, toad and mouse were on the hunt for anything that could be of use. while they were both hoping for a fresh kill, they knew this was unlikely. the smaller of the two cats had the habit of walking just too close, her fur often brushing against her leader's, but she quickly fell behind as toad cast a curious glance towards her.
earlier, all three cats had taken from their food supplies to fill their own bellies. mouse had ironically eaten two of her own, squirrel chowing down on a pair of voles, and toad had consumed an entire bird. they were grateful for their previously bountiful prey, the changing of seasons not as generous towards them.
