“im sorry.. we haven seen him, but i can ask otterstar for permission to send out a patrol to look for him with you” they said as they looked around the camp for otterstar

<there!> they thought as they noticed otterstar talking with the clan’s newest member dawnspeck at the other edge of the camp
”please wait here” they said as they walked over to the two cats

”thank you for telling me this.. you may now contiune on with your day” otterstar said to dawnspeck who got up and was about to leave before she noticed smokeghost.. she gave them a small nod before leaving the camp

”otterstar, do you have a moment?” they asked as they approached

he nodded as an answer ”what is it?” he asked

”well… im not sure how to put this…i need permission to create a patrol to help out someone to find their friend” they said as they looked at the ground scared of what otterstar might think

”oh..well you have my permission, i suggest you take eveningspirit and sundust with you as i think everyone else is busy with their other duties” he said with a soft voice
”i know we dont know each other that well and being a deputy is a huge responsibility, but i trust you as my deputy and as a friend” he said , he had noticed smokeghost avoiding talking to him and so he wanted to assure them that even if they dont know each other well they should trust each other

”thank you otterstar, ill go get the patrol ready.. can you let duskflame know that i want to talk to her after i get back, i havent seen her at all today”

”yes ofcourse” otterstar meowed as smokeghost walked towards the warriors den

as they walked into the warriors den they saw sundust and copperstrike cleaning eachothers furs

”um..sundust, i need you on a patrol to look for furzetufts friend” smokeghost said, it was awkward for them to interrupt the two cats moment

”oh, okay ill come in a sec” sundust said as he looked at smokeghost

smokeghost nodded and as they walked out of the den they noticed eveningspirit just outside the scouts den

”Eveningspirit!” they meowed as the trotted over to them

”oh! hello smokeghost!” eveningspirit meowed as smokeghost got to them

”i need you on a patrol to look for furzetufts friend with me and sundust” smokeghost said

”alright, do we leave now or?” eveningspirit asked

”well leave in a short while, we just need to wait for sundust, ill go let furzetuft know that we will help her” they said as they gave eveningspirit a quick hug

as they walked over to furzetuft they smiled ”me,eveningspirit and sundust will be helping you find your friend!” they said in a bit happier tone , they were glad to be helping furzetuft

**at the same time with duskflame and cloudchaser,somewhere quiet near the camp**

“what are you going to name them?” cloudchaser asked as he looked at the small kit who was sleeping next to duskflame

“i…i dont know..me and sootstar were going to decide on a name togehter..i-“ her eyes started to fill with tears again

“duskflame…look at me, i know this is hard for you..i know it hurst losing a loved one..but you need to stay strong for your kits…i know this may not help at the moment very much …but please stay strong..if you want to im always here, i will listen to everything you have to say” cloudchaser said as he tried to reassure duskflame to stay strong

duskflame nodded as they took a few deep breaths…

“ill name them sparrowkit” she said as she looked up at cloudchaser
“should we return to the camp…just so sparrowkit can be saver” they asked

cloudchaser sighed “i suppose we should, but you need to rest for a bit before that, ill wake you up if something comes up” he said as he walked to the small dens entrance

**with the search patrol**
smokeghost,evening spirit and sundust had left the clans camp with furzetuft and they were trying to look for furzetuft’s friend Gorcegorge

“do you see or smell anything that could give us a clue to where he could be?” sundust asked

“theres nothing here” smokeghost said as they walked back from the bushes
“have you found anything eveningspirit?” they asked as they turned to look at evening spirit

“nope…nothing here at all” eveningspirit said as they walked out of the old abandoned twolegs nest

“where should we-“ smokeghost was about to ask but then they stopped mid sentence.. their ears twitched

“smokeghost? what is it?” sundust asked

they shook their head“theres something that way!” they said as they started running towards ruins lake

the others followed them into the bushes

The hot sun beat down on the patrol's backs as cracked paw pads walked over dry and crunchy grass. The large cat in the front,
Gilabite, stops to sniff the hot, dry air. A lithe cream molly walked a few paces past him, scanning the stretch of forest in front
of the group. ``Adderfang, you and me will patrol the boarder``, Gilabite says, flicking his tail. ``Cactusfruit will patrol the
town``. The young she smiles and nods, padding towards the two-leg town. ``And Mudslap and Sandshrew will hunt``, He
finishes. The patrol splits up, leaving the Gilabite and Adderfang alone. ``Well mister "Head of patrol", lead the way``, the
molly teases. Gilabite chuckles and pads off in the direction of the train station. The pair travel in silence, scenting for
Wildcreek cats occasionally. The two stop at the old homestead, Gilabite sniffing the doors. ``You don't really think those
Wildcreeks have moved their boarder again?``, Adderfang frowns. ``Why would they even want this hunk of junk?``
``No, not wildcreek. Some loner. Smell``, the large tom states. Adderfang shakes her head, and tsks. ``Should we chase
him off?`` Adderfang unsheathes her claws. ``Nah, I'll go talk to him. Stay out here``, Gilabite says softly. He pushes past
the doors and spots a small white tom resting in the homestead, making a nest out of hay and old two-leg clothes left behind.
He perks his head up, flicking his tail. ``What do we have here? A little kitty lost?``, the mystery cat mews. Gilabite sighs.
``Listen partner, we can either do this the easy way or the hard way``, Gilabite says, approaching the tom. ``Is that a
threat?``. The white tom jumps off of his nest and walks towards Gilabite, not showing any sign of fear. ``Listen here, uh-``,
Gilabite is cut off, the white tom interjecting. ``Snowtuft. My name is Snowtuft, but you can call me Snow if you want``.
``Right. Well Snowtuft, I don't know if you know this but you are currently trespassing on Viper Raider territory. I suggest
you leave before things get nasty. We have a patrol to finish and really don't want no trouble``, Gilabite says in a gruff voice.

Snowtuft prances out of the homestead, a smug look on his face. Adderfang frowns when she sees Gilabite exiting behind him.
``We cut a deal. He helps hunt and leaves, but he takes 75% of what he catches``, Gilabite sighs. ``Gilabite!``, Adderfang
hisses, frustrated. ``C'mon, he'll be out of our fur soon. Lets just hope he doesn't catch too much...``, Gilabite grumbles.

they were like shadowy angels that lurked in the farthest corners of the world… in the stone-cold heart of a stranger that wandered through scowling valleys.

with raven tresses and eyes fathomed of shards of zircon, a statue of stone that seemed… lifeless. lifeless like the crumpled soul that no longer danced at his toes.

Nightfall draped around her, a cloak of fading ebony and indigo upon her shoulders. And under the silvery glow of the stars knit into softs whorls and spiralling lines, her thoughts ebbed, trickling like the dwindling daylight from the horizon. Silhouettes waltzed, twirling, from beeches and snarled branches, casting shadows wherever they set foot.

But it didn’t hide the appearance of a new critter.

A scritch-scratch scraped the ground, followed by the pitter-patter of restless, tiny paws. Gold and auburn leaves woven through the brittle roots rustled, parting. A pale snout poked out, along with the brush of a thin tail against the dirt.

Mouse.

Her jaws parted. The cool slab of her former perch rolled off her paws as she eased into a crouch, pawsteps soft against the damp grounds.

The tiny critter rummaged through decaying leaves, tiny snout flicking in and out of the pile, paws effortlessly busy on its midnight gathering session. It would never see her coming.

Claws unsheathed, she pounced.

The critter froze. Then scrambled. A squeal barely out from between its teeth, it shot under the cover of leaves. Ah, come on━ Twisting, her paws hit the leaf pile. Empty. Around her, glimmers of auburn and gold burst, exploding, from the kicked-up leaves in the evening breeze. Stealth abandoned, her gaze roamed, searching for movement. Even just the faintest━

Her claws snagged along the side of the gnarled roots. But the little tail snaking through slipped, barely sliding through her paws. A faint, hiccuped squeak signalled the tiny critter’s relief. It was safe. Safe and sound to live another day.

She huffed, shaking her head. “Alright, little one. You win.”

Another squeak… almost indignant.

“At least this once.” She snorted, a chuckle on her lips. “Now, don’t think I won’t be…”

With a gentle thrust, tiny leaflets and petals popped out of the critter’s burrow. Her head tilted as she wandered close. A peace offering? Or a fall cleaning spree? A trick?

The leaves tickled her nose, imbued with a sweet aroma. And gently, her paw eased on top of an ivory petal, pressing against a pale, gold slab peppered with holes. A little lick revealed it was… salty. Stolen twoleg scraps, perhaps? (+1FP scraps, +1 bindweed, +1 dried oak leaf)

rfgmphjggkfvttbipexcitement. 'Alright then group,

rfgmphjggkfvttbipset off for the river. Minnowpaw stepped
rfgmphjggkfvttbipout onto the snow covered ground, her
rfgmphjggkfvttbippaws beginning to tingle from the cold.

rfgmphjggkfvttbipwarriors and to hopefully keep herself warm.

idyllicly alluring in the endless abyss of swans and pearls, the heavens had descended in the delicate frame of the daintiest of doves. serene and suffocating all at once as moon-lit eyes glistened with a warmth beyond any other.

“ah, i can’t thank you enough… huh, what was it?” voice delicately intertwined with a slight drawl, a lopsided grin graced their lips as their tawny curls bounced ever-so slightly. “ah! yes, it’s turtlestar… isn’t it?”

“i- yes.” frowning a touch as the ribbons of the morning settled into the horizon, those strange moon-lit eyes rested on hers… unwavering. “you haven’t answered my question, fennel… why are you here?”

the stranger’s lopsided grin faltered.

“ah, turtlestar… turtlestar.” moon-lit eyes sparkling with the light of a fading morning, a soft chuckle bubbled to their lips. “why talk about such fickle things? we have so much more to discuss… don’t we?”

silence.

“i have so many things to show you.” eyes fluttering shut into a wink as a bejewelled box gleamed in the delicate grasp of their claws, fennel gestured them close. “come! come! i have such stories to tell you!”

alive with the brillant ambers of citrine and scarlets of rubies, the little box seemed to tell a thousand stories on its own. a thousand stories fabricated with the serenity of quiet worlds and mysteries beyond measure.

“a priceless work of art… isn’t she?” seeming almost breathless as the stranger held the little box, their eyes fluttered to turtlestar’s. “would you like to see her for yourself?”

“i-” like the sweetest of melodies turned to a stop, words were lost as the little box found its way into her embrace… almost pleading to be opened.

“ah.. ah ah!” startling ever-so slightly, the unfamiliar drawl of the stranger’s voice soothed the eerie hush that had fallen over them. “you can’t open it, turtlestar… got that?”

“why not?”

shoulders lifting into a little shrug, their voice lilted into a whisper. “old folklore you know?” they grinned. “i suppose its somethin’ about bad luck?”

he sniffed.
“i suggest a young, capable leader like you shouldn’t take any chances… am i right?”

strange moon-lit eyes brightened as they flitted to the heavens above… as if there were wonders hidden in those ivory plumes.

“well… i’ve got more places to see! nice talking to y’all!”
and like a lark poisoned by a nightmare leaving behind disaster in its wake… disaster in the form of cardinal roses and scarlet blood as those moon-lit eyes twinkled away from sight.

The sun blazed, an obelisk of fire burning in the crimson skies, terrorizing even the faintest wisp of a silver cloud. The desert was its temple, its court and its kingdom. And here, amongst crevices and canyons, the sun reigned at its full, reckless glory.

Shards of light sparked, scintillating off a little speck in the distance.

Shaking herself, she quickened her pace, pushing through the waves of heat searing her back and shoulders. A low buzz in her ear, then two… signalled she was close. Her tail swept aside the swarm of dark flies off her curls, gaze tracing the pesky little creatures as they dipped and swirled, landing on their target.

Against the cracked, sun-scorched earth… a rotting skull.

Long, hooked horns spiralled as if cobras worshipping the skies and scratches marred the pale, glistening bone, adorning it with countless nicks and chips. “Hey! You there! Wait up!”

A foreign voice pierced the desert air, carrying like the shifting, bronze sands. Like a dancing flame, they wandered close, gold eyes alive, twinkling with endless mirth. Warmth flushed their cheeks, their cinnamon curls plastered and sticky against their forehead. “Forgive me, I didn’t mean to startle you. The name’s Fennel!”

Her smile was faint. “Amberstar. Why… why are you here?”

“Ah, that!” The stranger grinned, a lop-sided smile lifting the side of their muzzle. “You see, I seem to be a little behind schedule on my travels! I was caught in a windstorm at some place, then nearly mauled by some beast in another… thankfully I had some kind strangers aid me, but that’s a whole other story. Thing is, I could use some supplies for my journey!”

“Supplies?”

"Why, yes!" A little chuckle eased from their chest, warm and full. “It's be a trade of sorts! Something of mine for a little something of yours…”

"It's a Gladerunner's responsibility," Harja had to keep reminding himself. "really it's more like a privilege." Even his quiet lies to himself couldn't convince him. He was terrified, under the rare shade of the glade's wide-canopied trees, staring out into blinding light. It was just too... open. Harja had trained every day for that moment yet when he woke up to the cold, wet, chilling wind waiting to suck the air from his lungs... he could feel that his resolve has frozen and shrunk away from the task. "It's only for a little while, we can find where prey is hiding if we are apart, it would take us twice as long together..." A ground is too conspicuous. It'd be an eyesore, predators could have seen them from miles and the prey would make away if there was so much as a wrong step. It was hard enough to be stealthy alone, during these stressful times the Gladewood Wanderers trusted their Gladerunners to deliver.

Really, Harja's job was quite simple. The frosted grass licked between his paws and into his fur, the chill emanated down to his very bones, it settled like heavy dread, like water dragging him back down into the depths after a swim. His feet felt heavy and he wanted to lie down and nap here, safe under the foliage, but already he could feel his will pushing him forward. Harja had a job to do, and by Myistera's moonlit path, he was going to get it done.

As quickly as possible... hopefully.

Desperately, Harja pushed his way through the heavy snow, he could feel the wind on his nose and feel it growing runny. Already it was interrupting his perception, unable to separate the distinct scents around him. "Damn this whole season!" Harja cried internally, his widened eyes searched about in a crazed manner, he tried to peer between the thick flakes that matted his fur and weighed him down. It didn't seem like there were predators nearby, that part of the Gladewood was clear for now... he had to move on to a new priority.

"We're desperately in need of food if we're going to survive this wicked time," his senses hadn't fully recovered. The wind buffeted Harja's ears, swivelling for even the snivel of vole, the trumpet of tree frogs. His running nose prevented him from detecting any scent other than wet fur and the mud under his paws, deep under the snow. His eyes were squinting to see any movement, even the twitch of grass poking out beyond white hills. The icy white sheen was blinding, sparkles tinged his vision when he looked away, to the looming grey clouds overhead. "Nothing. There's just nothing." He would have to move on to a new spot, he wouldn't be spared any consolation here.
