What are Sea Devils you ask? They are a newly discovered species, found on the shorelines of a long lost island near the coast of Brazil. They live both on land and in water, with most of their lives being spent underwater, returning to land only to find a mate or sleep. Sea Devils are loners, they rarely form packs but it can happen. When pressed into a corner, they are rather hostile, defensive creatures. They can be hard to befriend but, with enough time and love Sea Devils can become fiercely loyal.

Species facts:
Head/Eye/Vocals:
• Horns are very rare to find on Sea Devils.
• They have very sensitive eyesight that can quickly adjust between light levels, however it's weaker in high lighting which means they don't do well during the day, preferring to retreat underwater.
• When underwater, they make a high pitched buzzing sound that can sometimes range several miles. This sound can only be detected by a few species and is used by the Sea Devils to talk to one another.
• The glow in their eyes is a chemical release cause by the bioluminescence properties in their eyes that allows them to see in low light conditions without projecting light in front of them, instead the chemicals lighten the image to revel object from the highly contrast sensitive eyes.
Mane:
• Some Sea Devils have manes and other don't, most do though.
• Sometimes they have hair, sometimes they don't.
• The mane or hair is normally colored differently.
Goop/Gills:
• The goop surrounding their gills protects their tubular lungs while on land and isn't present while they're in the water.
• Their lungs run from their neck to their tail, the water is taken in through the neck holes and run through filters to remove the dissolved oxygen from it, then pushed out the tail gills.
• The gills are a sensitive part of their body and should not be touched.
Tail:
• They have a very powerful tail, it's the power behind their swimming, it can also be used for fighting, but due to their gills they prefer to use claws or teeth.
• Unlike other species that have flat tails, Sea Devils have long end fins to allow for sharp turns and quick escapes.
• Their tail can cause them to be clumsy on land.
Glow/Lure/Spikes:
• The glow the Sea Devils produce is used for hunting fish, attracting mates, and flare communication.
• They can control their glow to a certain degree, dimming or brightening it for short periods of time.
• The spikes on their back are largely decorative and are only really used to frighten predators.
• The glow can also be used to ward off and confuse other hostile things.
Diet/Hunting:
• Sea Devils largely feast on fish, they don't eat many land mammals due to their large tail and glow restricting their hunting ability.
• The glow they emit is used to lure fish near to the surface.
Coloration:
• Sea Devils come in a wide range of colors and patterns, there are very few limits due to deep sea pressure dives encouraging mutations.
• The only thing that rarely comes about is them having anything but one solid color for their glow. This is because their glow is a chemical and for two or more colors to be present, it would require more chemicals.
Social/Breeding
• While Sea Devils do not mate for life, they rarely break off mateships and mateships are not made lightly.
• Children are not had without a serious commitment from both parents (Longterm mateship)
• Baby Sea Devils are called Guppies.
• There are normally 1-3 guppies in a litter
• Sea Devils normally only breed 3 time in their lifespan
