250 word or more story about them in a competition: The mare pawed the ground anxiously as she awaited her turn. The fairgrounds were alive with the gentle hum of anxiety, anticipation, and worry. Horses clattered noisely about the arena, their owners tapping their sides gently or correcting them. The mare's rider was nervous - Lago could tell. Shifting her weight, Lago allowed her rider to settle down, breathing in rythym slowly as she waited for their turn. This mare had been around these competitions before - they were all the same. Even so, the excitement always got to the mare, eating way at her as her turn to shine slowly arrived. She'd won so few competitions, but she still had hope. It wasn't very difficult for her to tell when she'd done well - if she'd won, a shiny ribbon would be pinned ot her headgear. If not, the rider would dismount, their head hung in dissapointment, and pat the mare, with a whispered, "good try, old girl." So many riders the mare had carried. And so many times she had lost. But not today, the mare though. Today would be different. As her rider's name was called, the mare stretched out a front hoof, picking up a steady trot as the duo made their way into the arena. The dust pooled around her hooves as she entered the ring, the viewers ooh-ing and aweing at her clean appearance. The judges sat in a booth, their cold stares making the mare shift uncomftorably. "You may begin," echoed the loud voice over the microphone.

A whinny erupted from Dusk, she was excited. It was her first show, no, our first show. I had never been in a show before, neither had Dusk, I had kept nagging my parents to take me to one, but they had always refused until one day, they surprised me with allowing me to enter in one.
I patted Dusk and gave her a kiss on the nose. She was so impatient, but as soon as the current competitor was done, we were up. I was one who had fallen in love with show jumping, pushing myself and a few of my horses to do their best with home made jumps. The highest jump was a little over 5 feet high, none of my horses except Dusk actually succeeded in jumping it, that was a reason that I had been so excited. After a few minuets, I mounted onto Dusk and patiently waited to hear Dusk's show name and my name. " Next, is Up After Dusk, and Okura Koga. " the announced announced. My heart dropped. Dusk let out a snort and started trotting. I pulled back slightly on the reins, to nervous to even show now. She refused and began to trot. " Dusk! " I pouted, but she ignored me. " You hard headed little butt! " I pouted. Once we were at the starting position, the timer started and she began. I decided to go with her and ignore the crowd, the judges, everyone, even my thoughts. After a minuet or two, it wasn't so bad, until we came up on the highest jump there was. " No, no no! " I cried, scared she wouldn't make it. She, yet again, ignored me and picked up her speed, moments later, we were soaring over the jump. A smiled grew on my face and that was it. The course was over. I let out a loud laugh as we exited and leaned over the saddle to hug Dusk. " You silly mare! " I chuckled.

Desperada is a classic mare in vaulting, simply elegant. Just ravishing, her stride seems so perfect. Almost atleast, her partner just the same. So wild and majestic but in a elegant way. As they both go around and around with each passing movement. Such strength they both carry. It takes great effort to manage great positions on a moving horse, but they are great at what they do. Desperada not only knows this is a team effort but it is what she loves doing or else she wouldnt be here now. Always at her best there was only one incident but she always learns from her mistakes and is willing to work to get it right. Determined and infatuated with strutting her stuff, she admires the ethnicity of how mesmorizing these things can be, even with someone atop of her she doesnt seem to mind at all.

Why do they have a heart shaped icicle? Demetri's heart shaped icicle comes from a past of hardship. He did not shape it himself, but rather it's was shaped for him by an unexpected abd wise friend so that he would remember that there was always a brighter side to everything that came his way and that he would never be alone as long as he kept his mind and his heart open to the possibilities. This friend that showed him so much kindness eventually moved on in their life, but Demitri never forgot them. He proudly wears this piece of art on his shoulder and repeats the same mantra he was told to everyone who seems to be having it rough.
