Postby Nimaine » Wed Jul 27, 2011 4:14 pm

Name:

Kole

Age (at most 200 years):(50 is about an average pup/trainee age, 100 actually being adult, 150 nearing elder years. If your Isnaroh is 200 it is nearing death.)

100 years

Gender:

Male

Antler type:

Addax horns

Region: (North, South, East, West or Central)

Central

Marking Types:
Kole's markings are based off a tiger: the orange stripes and yellow body is based off the real-life golden tiger ->clickie, and his back half fades into the grey of the legendary maltese tiger fake image here

Rank:(Only can be Warrior/Defender, Hunter and Trainee)

Warrior

Parents:(can be deceased)

Torlik and Jenif, alive but in old age, Kole is a pup from their last litter. He has little to do with them, other than sometimes seeking out his father for advice. He makes sure to visit his mother once every year on his birthing-day, as a way of saying "thank you."

Personality:

.Basics.
He's just a stolid Isnaroh wolf all the way through. The sort you want to have at your back, whether planning a raid into Sorith territory or dancing on the edge of a cliff. Even as a young pup, he did not often play. Only his sister could get him to loosen up a little.

.Glass Half Empty.
The pessimist of the group. Kole has good ideas and a sort of stupid, stubborn loyalty, but you'll never hear him cheer with joy after a victorious battle. No, he's the type who will say something like "Hmmph, must have been an advancing scouting party. Get ready for the next wave, pups." That's the reason he's been made captain. A warrior who always expects victory is liable to be overconfident. On the other hand, he can make a bad morale worse. Much worse.

.Last Laugh.
There's nothing Kole enjoys more than seeing or hearing of other wolves suffering from irony. He likes to say cliches like "pride goeth before a fall" and "he who laughs last laughs best."

.Tough Exterior, Soft Interior.
He's fond, in a gruff way, of his friends and family, but it can be difficult to get him to express tenderer emotions. Takes some work, and many blunt hints. He wants a family of his own, but tends to make big fat mistakes during the courting proccess. It's easiest for him to be tender around his litter sister, Sheek.

.Talks like a Soldier.
Copying his father, that special wolf in his life, Kole has a gruff manner. His mother managed to teach him the minimum of politeness, which he saves for those who rank equal to him or above him. He will treat pregnant females and mothers with greater respect than their ranks would imply, but any young trainees under him, male or female, are treated the same.

.Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover.
Kole wears bracers made of bronze. Even though they don't look as spectacular as gold, they are made of a rarer substance, as there are no longer smelting centers in human cities making more bronze, and the remaining bronze in those cities is being guarded by Sorith. Kole values what's inside a person or thing more than appearances.

.Battle Crazy.
A change comes over the lackluster Kole in battle. He turns into a mindless fighting machine, with no care for pain or danger. He seems to enjoy it much, much more than he should.

Story:

His parents were already nearing old age when Jenif had another litter. Three boy pups and one girl. The pups were all weak and sickly, except one. A strong one they named Kole. Naturally the girl was spoilt, and she grew to be healthy too. Kole, as the strongest member, was instructed to watch over his little brothers and sister. They all became trainees at the same time, the girl becoming a hunter trainee but all three boys followed in their father's footsteps.

Kole was a teacher's pet due to his obedience, and the other trainees loved to play tricks on him. He took this all in good humor, and his brothers stood up for him, and he returned the favor. They were the three musketeers, with a little sister tagging along. Kole loved Borit and Rollan, his brothers, and took his parent's admonitions to guard them from harm very seriously. He was his brothers' keeper and he loved them both. So one day when they were out adventuring, on Rollan's advice, they accidentally ran into a Sorith scouting party. Kole ordered Rollan to take their weakest and youngest brother Borit back to the rest of the pack while he headed off the Sorith. After much complaining that they would be out of the fun and worried comments on Kole's attempt to be a hero, both of his brothers finally obeyed him. Kole successfully prevented the three Sorith that came at him from reaching his brothers, he brought them all down. He didn't know that two of the Sorith had run around him in a wide circle, and now stood between his brothers and their safety. When Kole finished fighting, he returned home, only to find his brothers dead on the path. When they got to the main pack, the two Sorith had been killed, leaving Kole without the satisfaction of taking his vengeance. He blamed himself for his brothers' deaths, but few others did.

That incident taught Kole how to be suspicious and jaded. He learned what to expect from his enemies, the Sorith. No mercy, no foolishness, no second chances. He graduated from his training early with a reputation as a reliable and useful warrior. Kole is very proud of this reputation. But sometimes he wishes he had more than just loyalty and obedience and some brains. Sometimes he wishes he was brilliant alpha material. Thinking of this makes him sour, and he doesn't often indulge in such longings.

As a young Isnaroh trainee, wishing to distinguish himself, Kole took an extra pair of bracers and wore them on his back legs. He hasn't stopped, despite some cutting remarks on the stupidity of such an idea. It's probably his most creative effort, accessory-wise. He actually holds very little interest in accessories compared to the rest of his kind. He does take an interest in accessories when he's reminded of them, but he does it more out of a sense of duty than any real pleasure. His brother Borit loved accessories, and it hurts Kole to be reminded of him in that way. When his brothers died, Kole only kept Borit's earrings and Rollan's sapphire. The feather is a gift from his mother, he dares not take it off out of respect for her. His bracers feature garnets, his own personal stone. They were originally featured on his trainee necklace. His warrior bracers are made of bronze, a metal alloy only found in cities. He got them during a raiding party, and is very proud of them, keeping them well polished.

Kole enjoys spending time with his sister, especially now that he has lost the rest of siblings, and always volunteers to go out as a guard for her hunting party. Together, they make a good team, balancing each other's weaknesses and feeding off of each other's strengths. They've gotten a lot closer since Rollan and Borit died. Sheek likes this much better, even if she does miss her other brothers sometimes.

Other:

While the other warriors were yipping with joy and waving their tails high above their backs like flags, Kole hunkered down to sniff the dead Sorith. Gravel from the riverbank, snowdrop petals and scent from the forest, grass seeds from the prairie... this one had been everywhere. That meant only one thing. Scout. It was a scouting party. The main wave was yet to come.

He stood up straight, wincing as he did so. The bronze bracer had protected his leg from most of the kick, but it was still sore. Felt like a bruised bone. Kole tried to lick it, but his bracer was in the way so he gave it up.

"Kole, sir?" a puppy voice inquired. Kole turned, and saw a trainee coming up behind him. "Aren't you happy that we won? The last two even ran away!"

"Hmmph. It's just a scouting party, pup. Those two Sorlith weren't running with fear, they were running back to report on our location. Go back to your station," he finished with a growl. All trainees, happy and optomistic, reminded him of his dead brothers Borit and Rollan. This puppy reminded him of Rollan more than usual, though.

The puppy obeyed, its tail tucked between its legs. Kole frowned slightly. He hadn't meant to sound that scary. He started to follow the pup, to say something more encouraging, when his leg reminded him rather brutally that it was injured. He had to save his strength for the next battle, anyway.

Kole limped up to his alpha, who was leading the battle. "Oh Kole, are you injured? Zena can heal that for you. I have to work on Marcros now."

"Thank you, sir," Kole said respectfully. "I just wished to report that this was only a scouting party. Doubtless the real Sorith warriors will be here soon."

The alpha smiled slightly at him, knowing Kole's personality. "But not before you recieve something for your leg, yes? We must take time out to heal our wounded. Then we can chase down that Sorith scum."

"Yes, sir," Kole said, bowing before limping off to join the line around the female alpha. But there wasn't as much time as the alpha thought. Kole could hear the twisted male trumpeting of a bull Sorith, and his ears pricked up. His wounded leg straightened, the pain forgotten as adrenalin coursed though his body, turning weariness to energy, pain to numbness, and fear to eagerness. When the first of the Sorith crashed through the undergrowth, he met them in midair, a curving, toothy smile on his gaping jaws. The joy of the battle, the thrill of the fight! Now to do or to die! Kole lived for these moments.

3 facts of the Isnaroh:
1. Isnaroh don't wear bones, it's considered disrespectful
2. Hunter's bracelets feature gems that are the same color as their eyes
3. The western Isnaroh have two types of tails, one with fur all the way down, and one with fur only on the tip (like a lion's tail)
