Deer Name: Indigo "Indy"
------
Collar + Bell Color: Royal purple + Silver
Ribbon + 2 Bead Colors: Same ribbon color & 1st bead color. 2nd bead color can be silver
Gender: Buck
Prompt: Indigo doesn't remember when he got that ribbon tied on his antlers. But he does remember when he got his first bead. Born and raised on Clover Field farms, he'd always been gentled by humans. His favorite, by far, was the little girl his handler brought with him. Delilah was her name. His legs moved on their own, bounding across the plains the second he heard his name echoed by her voice on the wind.
The sun was nestling itself in the horizon, the world painted gold by its daily farewell. His ears perked up, picking up Delilah's call from afar. It didn't take long for him to speed towards the girl, greeted by her mile-wide grin sitting on the weathered wooden fence. Indigo slowed to a trot, stopping just in front of her. Deliliah flung her arms around his neck with the deer being the only thing keeping her from falling off the fence. The girl let go after a few long seconds. She rebalanced herself, reaching out a hand to scratch behind his lef ear. Indigo obliged, head tilting into his palm.
Before he could fully lean into the intoxicating pleasure of having an nigh unscratchible itch being catered to, he felt a tug on the ribbon in his antler. He jolted his head up, backing away a step. Deiliah caught herself from toppling forwards, murmuring a quick apology before holding up a smooth, blue orb. Indigo tilted his head, slowly stretching his neck out to sniff it. His nose touched it; it was cold, but smelled just like her.
She beckoned him forward again, and Indigo relented after some hesitation, tail flicking in wary trust. Her smal hands deftly took hold of one end of the ribbon and slipped the bead onto it. Indigo hardly even realzied what she'd done until she let it go and it gently clacked agaisnt his antlers.
"Happy one year, Indy," she chirped, admiring the new trinket. Indigo tossed his head, fascinated by the accessory, He snorted when it didn't fly off; How odd that this should be part of him now. But this was his little two-legged. If she decided to paint him neon green and spray glitter on him, then so be it; he'd be proud to be the most loved deer in the herd.
Delilah rubbed between his antlers beofre turning and hopping off of the fence. Indigo stamped a foot and threw his head. She was leaving so soon? She'd just gotten here! What cruety was this?! She giggled and leaned on the fence, the old posts creaking udner her.
"You're fine. I'll be back later. And besides," she turned away, but kept her eyes on him. They glittered. "I already need to plan what color your next birthday bead will be!"
Indigo watched her form disappear into the horizon, just as he'd done every evening when she came to visit. Birthday bead. He wasn't sure what that meant, but if it meant she'd come back, if it meant she'd be happy, he'd gladly allow every inch of his antlers to be covered in them.
