ohhh my god she is STUNNING? could i maybe claim,, i think she's perfect for a role i've been mulling over! ghost of the drifting isles (a salt marsh slash ship graveyard), believed to be a lingering soul from a shipwreck. her memories have been lost to time so now she just wanders the isles scaring off adventurers <3

Within my lore, I think i would make them the Heretic of Lunae

The world i am building has strict rules that has inverses and side relations, these rules are universal except for a select few called Heretics; they are named that because they don't follow the single rule that typically isn't of their choosing

To be a Heretic is to not follow a rule, to essentially be above it and therefore manipulate it - to keep it in check, to be above a rule is to essentially be given a cosmic job that only you can do.

i.e. with this character here - who would be named Lashala - being the Heretic of Lunae means that they would be unaffected by that which is effected by the moon. Lunae as a rule has dealings with the tides and moonphases - as well as some of the wild things that can happen on various moon phases, they rise and fell the moon each night as apart of their maintenance.

Lashala themselves are stuck at the bottom of the ocean, only able to be seen when the moon is out as the sun reflects on the moon and causes it to shine, and therefore themselves.
They yearn for the sun daily, they miss them and their adventures, they miss how it felt for them to keep them warm; yet they are the one who betrayed them, and are now suffering for it

Throwing my hat in the ring.

Was thinking she could be the Lake Walker who guides lost souls to the Underworld in my lore. So she can only exist and be summoned on bodies of water. She has a lantern that's waterproof, and never goes out (until she herself retires into the cycle of reincarnation).

She helps the lost souls who have passed in the water, no matter the reason, or those who were thrown into the water, as their souls do not wish to pass on without vengeance, which she quiets for them all with logic and reason. (Aka reuniting with loved ones who have chosen not to reincarnate, or just return to the cycle themselves)

xxxxxoh my goodness this fable is gorgeous!! i always love your designs but this one is especially stunning <3 i'd love to give some ideas for a claim if it isn't too late; i have a lore waive available for this month and could probably do like 3k words in one sitting bc i'm obsessed 😭 my apologies if i went a little overboard!

xxxxxmy fable world (valis) is kind of a typical high fantasy-esque setting, with some extra ~hijinks~ about a pantheon of gods who have been completely forgotten and are really peeved about it. the vision i have for this beautiful lady's lore is that she is a water spirit who resides in a lake within the telltale forest, a magical but dangerous wood. she is cursed, unable to leave very far from the lake's shores, yet she vaguely remembers a time before, a time of freedom, dancing through many waters.
xxxxxunfortunately, she cannot remember the specifics of the curse or how to go about breaking it. (despite her elegant countenance, she is quite forgetful and dreamy, her mind often wandering off.) despite this, she tries to make the most of her situation: when travelers pass by, she offers to keep watch while they rest, in return for hearing the stories of their adventures. she perks up from her usually distant self when listening to these tales, as if she herself were living through them. gratefully, she thanks all who comply with her request, a wistful gleam in her eyes as she returns to wade in the waters.
xxxxx(to develop her story further, maybe she'd be able to leave if some of the lake water were carried elsewhere, and she could travel alongside it? imagine such an ethereal lady popping out of like... a bucket of water with a few lilypads floating in it xD)
xxxxxi already have some ideas on connections to other fables i own, too! she would easily be friends with faiza, a travelling bard who often passes through and loves both talking others' ears off and beautiful women; and jasper, a fatherly apothecary who would be interested in helping her break the curse. i also think she could be somehow related to queen aethelwynne of the faeries, with both of them having such gorgeous watery designs... perhaps her situation has to do with having angered the fae court, or maybe her true origins lie within their realm? either way, she would fit right in with my world!

If I could throw my hat in the ring for a possible claim,
My immediate thought for her is that she was a beautiful maiden who fell in love with the sea. Out of jealousy from another more powerful entity, she was cursed- trapped into living in a small pond- no more than a few hundred feet from the sea. She lives out her days in solitude, dreaming of one day meeting the sea.

I will also toss out some lore for the claim opportunity! Either way this design is awesome, I don't blame you for being tentative, I've been there before haha

There is a place in my world where water is scarce, the Gigan Empire, a much smaller territory called Rohan at the time, used to have a mighty river that gave their people water but one day that great river stood and simply walked away. But is this true? Did the river stand and abandon the people as punishment for stolen power? Or did someone use trickery to incite a rebellion?

Water in a dry land should be sacred and yet she abandoned them. The crops withered, the animals died, the trade stopped, and soon the people followed the livestock. They tried to atone for their sins but she refused to help them, hiding in the castle keeping all her water for the nobility. How could she? She stole the water from the Gods and now they were being punished for her sins. Crown Princess? No, monster. The rebellion and destruction of one of the last remaining fable royal families was inevitable.

She survived. Now nothing more than a mirage, barely out of reach, leading lost travelers to water in their times of need. Never getting close enough to truly be seen but the trail of damp sand and rock she leaves behind ensures those of pure heart will leave the dunes alive.
