you received a call from a park ranger about something odd spotted at a campground; campers had been complaining of a "giant raccoon" making huge messes of their campsites overnight. you rent a campsite and after getting your tent set up, you wait for the sun to set. once it starts to get dark, you set some human snacks out as bait and go inside your tent to wait. not much time passes before you hear rustling footsteps outside. you very carefully unzip the tent just enough to peer out, and catch a glimpse of a few raccoons enjoying the doritos and peanut butter jelly sandwiches you left out. "darn," you think, "maybe it was just some raccoons..." suddenly, the other raccoons freeze and turn to look at the edge of the forest where snapping branches can be heard. out of the darkness comes a beautiful mimic-cat, with deep red eyes and distinct mask across its face. the raccoons chirp at it, and resume snacking. the mimic-cat cautiously comes further into the campsite and begins to feast alongside the raccoons. you're afraid to move a muscle, this creature seems incredibly skittish and you can't risk having it run back into the forest without being able to at least take some pictures....
