This particular herd of Icelandics are locally known as 'Crystalla Cavern Icelandics' or 'Crystallas' due to the stunning natural environment in which they have made their home. These elusive horses dwell in the breathtaking ravines and caverns of southern Iceland. They lead a peaceful life surrounded by beautiful waterfalls, mossy rock formations and shining crystals. Wading the fetlock-deep, crystal clear waterways that run through the dimly lit caverns has become second-nature to them, and they enjoy the cool, misty atmosphere.
Over the centuries they've been rumoured to have even taken on some of the characteristics of their ethereal environment. Crystalla Cavern Icelandics have been reportedly seen, very rarely, to appear almost as if they are reflecting the beauty of the gemstones and dappled waterways near which they reside.
Crystalla Cavern Icelandics come in every known equine colour, but very rarely a Crystalla emerges from the caverns that is nothing like we have ever seen before. Little is known about these rare horses, but it can only be assumed that these are breed-specific markings that have evolved due to the breed's rare living conditions. The first type of marking has been named 'Ripple', this is a marking that mirrors the ripples and flows of the many waterways nearby. The second type of marking has been named 'Crystalline', this colourful, seemingly gemstone inspired mutation has been seen in most colours of the rainbow and reflects light like a crystal. On the absolute rarest of occasions, a horse with both breed specific markings can be sighted.
Sounds like you'd have to be very lucky for one of these horses to pick you as their friend.
