Prompt: Honestly, when a horse strikes me as needing a specific color it is based off of how they look and the quick personality I come up with in my head. For this girl, she looks sweet and soft, so I would go for a more pastel palette.

But to be truthful, I honestly like to see what an artist thinks would look best. When I color horses, I tend to look at their base coat and their markings before deciding on an eye color to match. Either a firey, free spirit or a sweet gentle babe.
