Oh my, there are actually 8 fish fables?! Here comes one more to close out our fishing event!

It seems a recent surge of passion for fishing has drawn forth a strangely familiar fable! They seem to be lacking their colors though... why don't you design a fresh coat of paint for them? To win this fable, please tell me a little bit about their personality, and provide a moodboard for me to base their design off of! No specific limits, but don't go too crazy! Bonus points if you pick your own images, and if the moodboard has at least one aquatic or otherwise fish-themed image. You may optionally add extra inspos, such as music.

fable name: ondine [ “little wave” ]
personality: ondine is somber and bitter, most of the time. she spends her days lazing about on the pale-sand shores of the sairrine, or resting half upon a dock with her tail fanned out behind her in the gently rolling waves. she lights up, though, whenever a curious stranger strays within talking distance to quell her loneliness. some might call her a pathological liar, but she prefers the phrase ‘extravagant storyteller’. she’d never tell an outright lie, but she’s certainly not above bending the truth to draw someone in; it never seems enough to make them stay, though.

cassandra - florence & the machine

this song represents the way i’m envisioning her character so perfectly! the first time i ever listened to it i remember starting the song again from the beginning after finishing it, and feeling so struck by how sweet the first verse sounds in comparison - it gets louder and more bitter and angrier the further into it you get, and i think that feels very fitting for ondine.

fable name: Marina
personality: Marina is the motherly sort, being somewhat of a deity to the local fishing scene means she has many fishers’ ships to bless and protect on their voyages. Beloved by all for her fierce loyalty, she has found a bit more room in recent years to relax her image and have a little more fun with her people. Performing little “exploits of merriment” such as, replacing hard earned coin with sand dollars, only to have said hard earned coin turn up doubled in one’s pillow. Or, much less to the grace of her people, acts like the infamous “Fresh Water Turned Salt Water” incident. (Marina still stands by it as one of her best.)

fable name: cain
personality: lone wolf, quiet, withdrawn; however, once you get friendly with him, he loves to talk and talk about the things he loves. typically described as a recluse and home-body, but it's not inherently true. he loves wandering out into the vast seaweed forests and getting lost (though he's not actually lost-- his sense of direction is impeccable). he loves being one with the beauty of which surrounds him. he loves nestling in the grassy sea floor and just watching the life pass him by. though his mouth is quiet, his mind is loud with appreciation for the life he was given. to be able to experience the magnificence that is the ocean is a blessing in its own to him.

fable name: elenya (meaning "of the stars" or "light/shining/beautiful" in quenya)
personality: elenya was a courtier of an ancient underwater noble house in faerendell, one which has since been lost to time. she was the singular daughter of a minor noble family who had been vying for power within the house for a long time. her parents had always pushed her to search for a suitor within the upper echelons of their house, and soon, through their influence, she would be betrothed to none other than the royal family's eldest heir. their child would come to be known as heir to the house of the sea.

she was never truly given a chance to form her own personality in her early years, raised to fit the role of the perfect daughter. she had always been a very proper, well-mannered fable—taught to be such by her many tutors—but with her parents' influence, any semblance of her outside of that vanished early on. she'd come across as cold and distant to others, her envy often unchecked. it was only after she had her daughter that she felt she could finally take a breath and let a little more of her personality shine through the facade. her true self was far from perfect, but with each passing day she found herself more at home in the royal court and adjusting better to her role as a mother and consort. she'd come to be known as a benevolent ruler despite her early reputation, compassionate yet authoritative and confident as ever.

personality: Maiden of the Night Sea, Selene's personality reminds you of what bed time felt like as a child. The quiet whisper of the moon as it bided you to sleep. The sweet bedtime stories that would bring you dreams of adventure. Urging you, as an adult, to think back on something from your childhood you can't quite remember. The sweet dreams, the magic of bedtime stories, the haziness you feel when your dream fades from memory. Quiet and shy, like a midsummer night's dream, cicadas singing you a lullaby. Shimmering with hope like a sea of stars. Mourning doves as you wake, sweet and gentle as your memory of the previous night's adventure fade into a shining sea of stars.

personality: Quiet, Elegant, Aloof, lonely, timid are ways that other fable's would describe the reclusive Merfable known as Cove. But at the same time Cove is also captivating and charming once you put forth the effort to get to know this elusive Merfable.
