Lore: Aitsu flicked his tail in agitation, he was hoping to not have to go into the village or even worse the city for another few weeks. But he had forgotten to get the red kelp from the merchant that came to the village once every few months. Normally he would just wait it out, but his best friend Hali's birthday was in three days. And he had to have the red kelp to make Hali's birthday bread. Aitsu let out a huge sigh, he garbed his carry net and small tradables bag securing them comfortably over his neck and making sure they would not rub his wings. Aitsu set out to the main road to head to Yranta the nearest large city. As he swam along he started planning not only Hali's birthday celebration but also the next expedition. He was trying to dicied if he wanted to go back to the sunkin ship of the northern cost of the Krevende. Or if he was finally going to go ashore and explore one of the main lands. Aitsu always found such interesting things when he went to dry land that the other sea fables went nuts for in trade. So far he had only explored small islands and met a only one band of tiny island fables. He thought back in amusement to those tiny fables that only came up to his knees. Just then Aitsu swam over the last ridge before Yranta came into view, he mentally put his thoughts of his future exploration plans on the shelf to concentrate on find that darn red kelp.

Aitsu swam threw the gate and headed straight to main market, as soon as he got to he food section. He steeled down in a out of the way spot near a sea fruit vendor. He began scanning the booths looking for any of his usual traveling merchants. Of course his luck was still not with him the only vendor that had kelp was a fable he had never seen. Aitsu waited for a lull in traffic and stepped out of his quite spot in to the isle. He then made his way over to the kelp vendor, the older fable running the booth greeted him and then turned back to the mother of three rambunctious littles. This suited Aitsu just fine as he went over the different types of kelp on display. He spotted a few of his favorites including the large purple leaf kelp, he made a note to get a pound of that for himself. Aitsu was starting to get worried he was only seeing crimson kelp, which would work in a pinch but it had a more pepper taste then the slightly sweeter red kelp that his friend Hali preferred. Aitsu waited for the old fable to finish up the transaction with the mother fable. Soon she was done and turning to him, he requested the pound of large purple leaf kelp and then asked if she had any red kelp. The old fable eyed him up and down and said she might have some but it would cost him a special trinket. Atisu sighed this is why he like working with merchants that knew him and that he was an explore. They never treated him like he would not have something good enough to trade for some of the more rare ingredients. Aitisu garbed his small tradables bag and poured it out on the trading board, the old fables eyes lighted on a small carved bird in flight statue made from a yellow, red and green stone. It really looked like the birds on the tiny fable island in flight. In short order Atisu was leaving with his pound of large purple leaf, a large bulging sample bag of kelp he had not tried before and the much need red kelp. Atisu thanked the old fable and started to make his way home to start making that red kelp bread. [395 words]
