Sauronkind fought vehemently against any Sauron being raised among humans, even as relations between them as cultures improved the tribes feared that a Sauron being among humans would cause them to lose their culture, connection with nature, and adherence to their kind's tradition. As well, even after many generations of peace and attempts to forge understanding- some elders of the clans were still convinced that humankind was far more a danger than a boon to their kind and demanded return to their roots among the boughs of the nature god and his creations as opposed to the allure of lights and cities.
Relic is the first Sauron to be raised among humans, and a Sauron of the new age following the great war. Not of the choosing of any of his kind- mind you- but because his parents were killed defending their village along with the elimination of his entire tribe. As a result, the sorcerers who came (late) in an attempt to rescue the Vledeon dwelling species after fighting their way through the jungles- found only ash and smoke in a ruined village and broken trees amassed in tangles of burnt and torn vines. And- a small crying baby Relic, nestled deep in the rubble.
Taken in by the mages, he was raised in the towers of Ipus to appreciate and understand arcane magic and its purposes- earning a greater respect for humankind and their archival knowledges in vast libraries and technologies. However, his entire life the call of nature still urged him home to his own kind. He set out with his adoptive family's blessings to return to his homeland- where he was met with being treated like an outcast for his ignorance to their culture and treated like an unwelcome mutant among the ruins of a jungle that was struggling to heal after such heavy and destructive conflict.
Seeing the debris about, he set about using his magic to heal the jungle in the way he knew. Alighting the druidic magics with that of the celestials- empowering them further. (Thankfully, the gods of Nature and Creation are good friends, meaning their magics easily bonded and created power his kind could only dream of). While this greatly helped in the repairs, it led to further isolation as his kind rejected him even more for not doing things the way they always had, driving him to become a hated hero- one who healed large swathes of the jungle, and yet was hated by all for simply trying to return home
