The saddle provides the support of a equitition saddle, the back coverage of a western with the close contact of an English saddle. It provides comfort for the horse and rider whilst still allowing the rider to feel the movements and have good contact with the horse.
The bridle is versatile, either combined with a leather or rope strap that loops around the neck. Should a rider fall or wish to tie up the horse the additional strap allow this. It is often combined with a neck strap, for riders to use instead of the reins or to also assist with tying up (although riders have been known to use it as a belt when dismounted).
The tack can come in many colours. Often the leather on the bridle and neck strap are coloured. The saddle accents are often coloured as well.
