WME Name: Cutlass
Fun Fact: The word "cutlass" developed from the 17th-century English use of coutelas, a 16th-century French word for a machete-like mid-length single-edged blade. Although the cutlass was also used on land, it is best known as the preferred weapon of sailors because it was sturdy enough to hack or cut through heavy ropes, thick canvas, and dense vegetation, and short enough to be used in close combat, such as during boarding maneuvers, in the rigging, or below deck. Cutlasses are famous for being used by pirates, although there is no reason to believe that Caribbean buccaneers invented them, as has occasionally been claimed.

WME Name: Kardos - "Swordsman" Hungarian language
Fun Fact: Toledo, Spain, was very famous for its steel swords. Legend says that, to test a Toledo sword, people would throw a silk handkerchief into the air and let it flow down onto the sword blade. A true Toledo sword could cut a handkerchief with just gravity!

WME Name: Striker
Fun Fact: A blacksmith's striker is an assistant (frequently an apprentice) whose job is to swing a large sledgehammer in heavy forging operations, as directed by the blacksmith. In practice, the blacksmith holds the hot iron at the anvil (with tongs) in one hand, and indicates where to strike the iron by tapping it with a small hammer in the other hand. The striker then delivers a heavy blow to the indicated spot with a sledgehammer.

WME Name: Andúril (Aragorn's sword in LOTR)
Fun Fact: The expression “I'm going to pommel you” or to “pommel” someone comes from the medieval ages. The pommel is the part of a sword located opposite the blade on the end of the swords grip. The purpose of the pommel is to counter weight and balance the sword for the wielder. The type of pommel installed on a sword can directly influence every aspect of the swords handling. During a battle if you wanted to non-lethally take down an opponent, A pommel strike was much kinder than the other end of your sword.
