This poor pet's old owner passed away suddenly and due to the family's grief they didn't have the ability to take care of them for their remaining days. They were brought to us with loving arms, with their favorite toy and a blanket made by their old owner that will be going with them to their new home.

Fawn’s favorite memory is the time her old owner took her to see his wife at the care facility. His wife had taken ill… and Fawn adored both her owners. The facility allowed him to bring her to see Grandma. Her owners were Grandpa and Grandma to her. Grandma had been sick for some time. Thus, Fawn was just so excited and happy to be able to see her again. She passed away peacefully with Fawn in her arms…From then on, it was just Grandpa and Fawn, until he also ended up passing away.

Prompt: Snaggletooth's favorite memory is the day she received her blanket and teddy. It was a humid, stormy summer night. She was huddled up next to her owner, shivering. Thunder boomed all around her, ringing in her ears. The scent of her owner comforted her as she nuzzled her face deeper into his sleeve. Another loud crackle made her jump, so he gently nudged her off of him. He stood up abruptly, and walked into another room. He came back with a treat, then beckoned Snaggletooth over to him. Looking over her shoulder, she quickly bounded into his arms. In one swift motion, he swung her close to his chest and moved into a different room. It was a room she was hardly allowed in, one her owner used for his "job," whatever that means. He sat neatly in a chair, and began to use a fancy machine, putting pale gray cloth underneath a sharp, pointy object. She jumped at the sound of the machine, but eventually dozed off to sleep from the sound of the raindrops. When he prodded her awake, she couldn't stop wagging her tail. The storm was still going, and it was still late at night, but her owner had made something special for her. He handed her the small, soft blanket which had a patch shaped like a storm cloud with rain. He handed her a small stuffed bear. She immediately curled underneath the blanket, her tail wagging profusely. She'll never forget her owner, and she carries him with her in her special rainy day gifts.

Prompt: Scruffy was an abused and abandoned dog, his jaw was broken when he was a pup and never healed properly due to negligence. Luckily Scruffy was rescued and put in a shelter. There people really cared about him and gave him all the attention in the world. One day some of the staff came and got Scruffy out of his kennel and put him in the car. He didn't get to go in the car very often, usually it would mean he had to see the vet. But in this case Scruffy was going somewhere exciting, somewhere new! Once they arrived Scruffy was leashed and let out of the car, what he saw was mind-blowing. A huge colorful balloon was floating right in front of him, there was a small basket attached to the bottom of it with some people standing around it. The people looked nice. Scruffy was walked up to the big balloon and immediately showered in pets and kisses, but what came next he would have never expected. Scruffy was picked up and brought into the basket! Then by the time he knew it they were lifting away from the ground, slowly. At first Scruffy was terrified, he wriggled a little in the staff members arms but soon calmed down. Once he was calm enough the staff member took him closer to the side of the basket, now they were very high. Scruffy was amazed at what he saw...EVERYTHING. He could see all the little buildings, heck the whole town! he swears he could even see the shelter! They stayed in the sky for about 2 hours, Scruffy loved every minute of it, feeling the wind blow his ears and the sound of flame lighting the air around it. Scruffy was so happy. They came down about dinner time so when they got back to the shelter the staff made sure to give Scruffy the best meal ever, it consisted of raw beef and chicken, liver, kibble (with a little wet food), some greens, and his favorite...egg! Scruffy fell asleep with a full stomach and dreamed about big balloons flying through the air with all of his friends. It was the best day of his life...
