the argument this guy's eye color sparked was insane
since they're so controversial, tell me about a time their actions turned others against them!

Prompt;
Castalia stood at the edge of a glowing forest, her heart alight with the thrill of the unknown. "This way," she commanded, her voice resonating with an authority that brooked no dissent. Her team—a mix of seasoned explorers and starry-eyed novices—followed her into the luminous expanse, drawn by her unwavering confidence.
The air was thin, each breath a reminder of Lyraea’s unique atmosphere. The explorers’ breathers hissed softly, filtering the oxygen-poor air. Castalia moved with purpose, her eyes scanning the alien terrain. She was known for her unerring sense of direction, her ability to read landscapes like an ancient map. This mission was no different, she told herself. She had led expeditions through treacherous terrains before. Lyraea would be no exception.
The vegetation pulsed with an eerie glow, casting spectral shadows that danced and shifted. At night, the gentle acidic rains fell, nourishing the luminous flora and painting the world in glistening hues. Yet, as the days passed, unease began to gnaw at the group.
"Castalia," [REDACTED] spoke up one evening as they set up camp beneath a canopy of glowing vines. "Are you sure we’re on the right path?"
Castalia met his gaze, her expression firm. "Yes, [REDACTED]. The landmarks match. We’re close."
But the doubt had taken root. Whispers spread among explorers, casting long shadows on the once-solid foundation of trust. The landscape, with its otherworldly beauty, became a maze of uncertainty. Castalia’s certainty seemed to waver with each passing hour, her confident strides becoming more cautious. Castalia felt the weight of their trust pressing down on her, her maps and compasses suddenly unreliable in this shimmering world.
[REDACTED] confronted her again, filled with frustration. "Castalia, admit it. We’re lost."
She looked up from her maps, her expression a mix of defiance and desperation. "I’m not lost. This planet… it’s different. The landmarks change."
[REDACTED] eyes hardened. "We can’t keep going like this. We need to find our way back before it’s too late."
The group’s murmurs grew louder, their faith in Castalia eroding like sand under the relentless tides. That night, under the surreal tint of the twin suns, the decision was made. [REDACTED] took charge, and the group resolved to retrace their steps.
Castalia watched in silence as they prepared to leave, her heart heavy with guilt and regret. She had led them into the unknown with the promise of discovery, but the planet’s enigmatic beauty had proven more treacherous than she had anticipated.
As the group began their journey back, Castalia lingered, her eyes scanning the bioluminescent forest. She could feel the planet’s pulse, its secrets just out of reach. Her resolve hardened. She would not leave Lyraea defeated.
"I am staying," she spoke. "And I will prove myself."
However, it was too late - Castalia's exploration group had already become a distant fog within the hue of the glowing flora. Her arrogance and ego resulted in not only her group turning against her - but Castalia was now stranded, alone on an unknown planet.

Oh no.
He—look. Listen. Yes, the others had told him time and time again that he shouldn't play or hide in the engines room but it was the perfect place to hide scraps and trinkets. Everyone else was always getting into his stuff and no one ever looked in the engines room—none of the aktego on board could figure out how it worked so it was decided it was best to leave it alone as much as possible. Which was why it was the perfect hiding place.
Except—except this time, the shiny thing Rasalgethi had in his mouth had jolted towards the engine core. And he was taken off guard and now the engine core was sparking and throwing off all kinds of weird colors and the ship was now rumbling and—
Rasalgethi fled.
It was only a manner of time before the others were drawn to the engines room and realized that only one of their number wasn't present—and that all his stuff was shoved into the nooks and crannies of the machinery.
No one ever really trusted him to be on his own again, after that.
