Range Trotters are the result of crossbreeding Orlov Trotters, Finnhorses, Welsh Cobs (section C & D) and Hanoverians. Later crosses of Quarter Horses, Paint and Appaloosas to gain color and to give a boost to their hardiness.With a height average of 13-15 hands, they're a hardy breed with characteristics for various disciplines.

Created for use as work, carriage and leisure riding horses originally, they now serve as long-distance range horses, such as work with Park Rangers and mounted officers.

Willing and eager personalities, most are quickly trained to be bombproof and therefore trusted mounts in all lines of work; some are being seen in local show jumping competitions, others are notably used in therapeutic sessions for their calm temperaments. Harness races and endurance trials are common for the breed, as they are able to sustain an extended trot without tire. Cross-Country competitions see some of the taller Trotters, but due to their cob lineage this is still uncommon.

Despite the variety of competitions and work these horses are being seen in, they are still famously skilled as endurance racers. Many competitors have chosen Range Trotters due to their tireless work ethic, as well as the ease in which they can be trained. Many have become champions in endurance trials, and they have quickly become a sought after breed for their natural ability.

Prompt: Step 1: sleeping in. No alarms, no one around to wake him. Just peace and quiet until his body is ready to get up.
Step 2: BIG breakfast. All the favorites: toast with butter and jam, scrambled eggs with cheese, tall glass of OJ, and maybe some buttermilk pancakes to round it out. Eaten over the course of at least an hour, just to draw out the delight.
Step 3: uninterrupted video games session. Current obsession is Jusant; it's so relaxing yet engaging at the same time. Absolutely zero guilt over playing four-five hours.
Step 4: spring weather walk while listening to his favorite music. Enjoying all the new green popping up, even some flowers starting to bloom, and feeling the sunshine warm him through and through.
Step 5: curl up with a good book for at least an hour or two as evening rolls in. Probably build up a fire to snuggle up to, because every genre is improved with the soft crackle of a fire in the background.
Step 6: scaldingly hot bath. The kind he can just drop into and almost fall asleep in.
Step 7: back in bed after a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing day.

When they finally get home with everything, they set up a romcom and grab their favorite fuzzy blanket (just because they're in a relationship with themself doesn't mean they can't laugh at others relationship shenanigans). If they feel inclined that year, they may call up siblings or friends they know aren't doing anything and invite them over. No sense watching a movie alone, and it might make their friends or siblings feel better too. ^_^
