Referring to weight/height ratio, without the wings Marothiel would be approximately 140~lb. With wings he's about 340~lb, each wing weighing about 100 lb apiece. Add onto the fact that he faces life in a body that was not winged when he was forced into it, and it was not alive, the wings have added immense strain onto Marothiel and the skin surrounding where they sprouted from.
Long story short, Marothiel's celestial energy is confined to a meager mortal frame, and the result is a tight fit.
