It really is exhausting to hear, "did you hear that?" or "sometimes there's this shadow..." over and over and over. No one notices Polly and it's getting really tired of it. Sometimes, it just wished it was alive, but it would never admit that.
I'm used to being see-through
It's hard to make friends when you're dead. It kinda hurts every time Polly approaches someone and they just turn the other way, doing everything they could to not acknowledge it. Luckily, its eyes never get chapped from tears cause zombies can't cry.
but it Feels so bad when it happens with you
Polly made the mistake of getting attached to a living leafen. But just like every single other living leafen, they couldn't see it, except occasionally its shadow. As Polly's eternal ache and misery grew, it tracked this change right to its love.
Wish you'd see me the way I see you
As much as it knows it's impossible, Polly wished and dreamed of a life with its love. Actually, Polly was dreaming of a life in general. Being a zombie just was dragging it down and making it feel worse and worse about itself.
I guess it's back to the attic
Eventually, Polly hit rock bottom. Living leafens die, dead leafens don't. As its love passed on to another life and it realized it was still stuck in this world, it started working on itself. Recovering from bad habits and learning to not stress the little stuff, after all it is immortal.

So, in conclusion, Poltergeist is an absolute wreck but it still lacks any reputation of any sort. I guess it just comes with being dead.
