"Even the food starts to change, from summertime tropical treats to pumpkin spice well... everything! I like apple cider better myself though, but don't tell anyone! That's my dirty secret!"

prompt: Autumn smiles slightly, gently pushing the pages of her journal back together. The poor thing is coming apart, the binding on it old and soiled. It has gotten rained on before, splashed with mud and dirt, but through the sheer force of her determination remains together. The cover is a simple cover, just a regular composition notebook. She has drawn lovingly over time her name, various creatures and plants around these swamps, as well as her mentor. The instruments she uses are not always the same, varying between ink, pencil, and whatever she can find. Each page its own tale, its own adventure. She knows the story behind every stain, every writing.

Her own origins may be forgotten, but her story lies here in her research, her life's work. Her home... she will make sure that it will always be remembered. Her work will never be done, and someday she might have to glue pages back in. But she will do all in her power to ensure the journal remains.
