Cyomagi ✨ Lore

Postby xCorbeau » Fri Jul 01, 2022 2:18 pm

Cyomagi- Cyon (dog) + magic
Cyomagi (sigh-oh-MAJ-ee) are a species of horned canine that possess magic abilities. There are four classes of Cyomagi, each class specializing in a different type of magic. These classes often form small settlements, usually within their own class but sometimes being mixed. It is up to you to decide how you would like to build your world, so anything left vague is left that way on purpose. The amount of horns a Cyomagi has determines its class. The four classes are:
Tellurian (one horn)
Anomalous (two horns)
Innate (three horns)
Empyrean (four or more horns)

Tellurian
Elemental magic / natural magic
Tellurians are very down to earth, their society being primitive and minimalistic. Tellurians embrace nature rather than destroy it to make settlements, and they are very resourceful. They don’t use many technologies, though some Tellurians that harness electric magic are able to power simple contraptions such as lights and fans. Tellurians are friendly and accepting, and will never turn down anyone in need, so long as they are given respect in return. When necessary, Tellurians can be strong battlers, their brute strength often prevailing over that of their opponents. Tellurians generally form smaller settlements consisting of members who share similar elemental powers, and each has their own culture. Some are more friendly than others, but it’s very rare that a group of Tellurians will be actively hostile or “evil”.

Anomalous
Magic akin to “superhero” powers / unnatural magic
Anomalies are much more in tune with technology, not being afraid to dive into the deep end of scientific advancements. They use their magic not only for survival but also for their own benefit, unlike Tellurians who are a bit more selfless. Anomalies like to break the barrier between science and magic, using both to create powerful inventions. While not necessarily evil, Anomalies are much more likely to attack others for their own gain, but they still have respect for their opponents and generally won’t attack just “for fun”. Anomalous governments are structured similar to our world’s governments, where different settlements have different ways of ruling. Anomalous settlements, unlike Tellurians, are not generally separated by magical abilities, but rather by beliefs and opinions.

Innate
Psychic, telekinetic, and healing magic
Innates typically do not utilize science or nature in their society, instead relying purely on magic. Compared to the Tellurians and Anomalies which are more akin to our world, the Innates are like a fairy tale. Innates often keep to themselves in their settlements, which are usually in the clouds, on floating islands, or in other unreachable places, but sometimes they will come down to assist Tellurians or Anomalies when called upon. Innates are considered demigods by the Tellurian and Anomalous settlements, and are sometimes idolized and used in symbolism. Innates don’t let this idolization get to their head though, and are generally humble about their abilities and status, due to being isolated. Innates are usually the most passive of all settlements, but it’s not rare to have settlements of Innates that have more sinister plans. Passive Innates really only ever engage in conflict with other Innates that have ill intentions. Innates with the power of healing are the ones most often called upon by Tellurians and Anomalies, as they are most likely to engage in combat with each other, and in turn get injured. Sometimes, Innates with psychic abilities are called upon to give omens and/or advice.

Empyrean
Magic only gods can fathom
Empyreans are the gods of this world, their powers much too strong to be considered “normal”. They almost never interact with any other class, and there are so few of them that they usually only have one or two tiny settlements per population. With abilities such as creating entire universes, granting eternal life, necromancy, and more, Empyreans don’t usually form organized settlements as the other classes do. Some may even live in pocket dimensions, only entering reality on occasion. Empyreans’ temperaments and intentions are a complete mystery unless you are an Empyrean yourself, as many of the more sinister Empyreans are so good at tricking others that they appear as saviors to most. The only way to know for sure what an Empyrean’s true intentions are is to ask, and have them tell the truth, which is easier said than done. Many Empyreans are genuinely kind hearted and want the best for the world, but the greedy and ill-intentioned Empyreans have made it hard to trust any of them at all.

Cyomagi ✨ Rules

Postby xCorbeau » Fri Jul 01, 2022 2:21 pm

By adopting a Cyomagi, you agree to follow these rules.

1. Cyomagi are a closed species, which means you may NOT use these lines without permission, nor make something similar and call it a Cyomagi. Obviously I do not own the concept of putting horns on long, lanky canines, but if you happen to make something similar you may not use it in this community. Toy’s lineart is NEVER to be used without permission, this includes tracing and changing certain aspects.

2. Respect everyone, especially staff, and keep your personal drama in DMs. I want this species to be fun and welcoming to everyone, and I won’t tolerate unneeded drama flooding up these forum topics. As a courtesy to everyone, if you see someone breaking the rules, contact a Cyomagi staff member or CS staff member depending on the severity- don’t reply to it or start beef with the user.

3. Cyomagi cannot be bred by non-artists, though making a design inspired by existing Cyomagi OWNED BY YOU is acceptable, given you have the correct MYO token required.

4. Designs inspired by media are perfectly acceptable so long as the design is unique enough to be considered it’s own thing. For example, you can make a Cyomagi inspired by Mickey Mouse, but you can’t just straight up transfer Mickey Mouse onto the Cyomagi lineart and claim it as a MYO.

5. Art theft is absolutely not tolerated here, and anyone caught INTENTIONALLY stealing designs, lineart, literature, or otherwise will be banned from participating in the species.

Failure to follow these rules may result in any of the following depending on severity.

- A verbal warning
- Temporary restrictions from species activities
- A full ban from species activities

Users who are permanently banned from Cyomagi may either choose to surrender their owned Cyomagi to be re-adopted, OR transfer the design to another lineart. Designs transferred to other linearts are no longer considered Cyomagi and will not be able to be used in events.

STRIKES/BANS:
-none yet (duration)

Cyomagi ✨ Edits guide

Postby xCorbeau » Fri Jul 01, 2022 2:37 pm

Cyomagi may have edits, however they must be appropriate for their respective class. Some of these edits are free, some of them are available to purchase, and others are exclusive to events, milestones, and breedings.

Tellurian
Tellurians always have one keratin horn on their forehead, like a unicorn. This horn can be made of things besides keratin, but only things related to their magic. For example, a Tellurian with earth powers can have a horn made of clay, branches, plant life, etc, but may not have a horn made of lava. However, Tellurians with fire magic may have a horn made of lava, or ash, or magma, but not plant life. Any and all Tellurians may have a horn made of keratin, as this is the most common.

Edits available to purchase for Tellurians include:
-Horn material
-Elemental body parts/features (limbs/tail/stomach)
-fur edit
-ear shape edit
-major weight/body type edit
-tail edit

Anomalous
Anomalies have two keratin horns on their head, which can take any shape, but are typically akin to devil horns, gazelle horns, ram horns, or antlers. If the horns are not made of keratin, they will be made of something that in some way has to do with the Anomaly’s magic. For example, an Anomaly with x-ray vision might have transparent horns. An Anomaly with super strength might have horns made of a very hard material. An Anomaly which can fly may have feathered horns.

Edits available to purchase for Anomalies include:
-horn material
-physical manifestation of their magic (ex wings for flying, compound eyes or transparent body parts for x-ray vision, etc)
-fur edit
-ear shape edit
-major weight/body type edit
-tail edit

Innate
Innates have both a unicorn horn and a pair of horns, making the horn total three. No more, no less. These three horns can be any shape, so long as they sprout from the proper place- one on the forehead and two on the head. If not made of keratin, the horn will be made of a magical substance, which have much looser limits than the two more common classes. The only real limit is that the horns still be able to be read as horns.

Edits available to purchase for Innates include:
-horn material
-physical manifestation of their magic (ex floating/disconnected limbs for telekinesis, an aura for healing, extra eyes for mind reading, color changing for emotion reading, etc)
-fur edit
-ear shape edit
-major weight/body type edit
-tail edit

Empyrean
Empyreans may have any number of horns greater than 3. They can have 4, 5, 200, or infinitely many, so long as at least 4 are visible at any given time. Material is not limited, nor are edits. The only limitation is that they must still be recognizable as their species in their main reference, even if they can shapeshift.

Only one item exists to purchase for Empyreans:
-Unlimited edit (once approved, if you want to add more, you must purchase another)

Free edits for ALL classes include:
-accessories
-expression
-scars/disability/injury etc
-minor weight/height edits (within what’s possible anatomically)
-any eye shape, teeth shape, or tongue shape so long as there remains two eyes and one tongue
-the shape of the horn(s)
-claws
-very minor fur style change (ex. A tuft on the head, removing a tuft, reshaping a tuft for the purpose of edits)

Traits which cannot be purchased and may only appear in events/breeding include:
-Flightless wings on Tellurians, Innates, or non-flying Anomalies
-Body parts made of other materials which have nothing to do with their magic on Tellurians, Anomalies, and Innates
-Multiple body parts (legs, eyes, ears, tongues, etc) on Tellurians, Anomalies, and Innates which do not have magic related to said body part
-Halos/other floaty things around Tellurians, Anomalies, or Innates which have nothing to do with their magic
-Any sort of growth (scales, feathers, gems, etc) on Tellurians, Anomalies, or Innates which have nothing to do with their magic
-Any other trait which may pop up in the future on any Cyomagi that is not Empyrean
