on march 7th, 2022, a well known killing stone in Japan cracked open,
releasing a kitsune spirit thousands of years old. since then, odd creatures
resembling foxes have been sighted around the world, making mischief.
it took two weeks before anyone was able to catch one to find out what
it was. on march 24th, a project was launched to study these odd creatures.
by agreeing to adopt a kitsuke, you are helping understand a new
intelligent creature that has joined us on our world!

RULES


we're super casual and chill here, there isn't much you can do to get in trouble!

- kitsuke are a closed species, but i do not claim the rights to kitsune or reptile/snake hybrids ! any character not in the official kitsuke archive are not considered a kitsuke, and cannot be officially bred with or used in events.
- please dont beg an artist to judge a comp, spam threads, or steal kitsuke you do not own :c
- you can sell a kitsuke for the same currency that you purchased it for. if you did not purchase it, it can only be traded or gifted. kitsuke may only be sold for art if they have art other than their official ref c:
- you can roleplay as your kitsuke or use it as your fursona !
- feel free to transfer the design out of the species, just make sure to let the artist and the archivist know so they can make a note of it <3
- you can readopt your kitsuke at any time, just make sure to let the archivist know c:
- you may co-own kitsuke ! you will need proof that both owners consent to any breedings or use in events though c:
- you may add any accessories, scars, or non-genetic injuries/disabilities to your kitsuke as you'd like! (lost limbs, blindness, deadness etc)
- kitsuke can have any orientation or identity. 1-3 kitsuke can breed - yes, asexual reproduction is possible ! this will be explained more in the nursery <3

GODDESS' GIFTS + JEALOUS SPIRITS


goddess' gifts and jealous spirits are the HM and RU system here at kitsuke adopts ! if an artist wants to award an entry for a kitsuke that did not win, they may give the winner a goddess' gift (honorary mention) or a jealous spirit (runner up). goddess' gifts can be traded in for a nonrarity, common, or uncommon summoning spell (MYO ticket)! a jealous spirit will be a runner up kitsuki. jealous spirits must have at least one less trait or a lower rarity than the original kitsuke.

an artist does not have to give out goddess' gifts or a jealous spirit if they do not want to. please do not ask for one. artists may give both as many jealous spirits and goddess' gifts as they would like for every adopt they make.

if someone is awarded a jealous spirit and would rather have goddess' gifts, that is perfectly fine! they must tell the artist that they would prefer goddess' gifts after they have been told they are getting a jealous spirit but before the finished jealous spirit has been posted. if they request goddess' gifts after the spirit is posted, they will not be able to exchange the spirit for gg! if someone requests gg instead of a jealous spirit, they will receive 3x GG.

TRAITS

Kitsuke often have a base coat that mimics the natural coloration of a fox or snake. This base coat can have sparse unnatural markings of any color. They often have extra tails, although this is not always the case. Their fur is rather plush - much like a cat's coat.

natural fox coloration, natural snake coloration, hornless, short single point horns, single tail, two tails, non-genetically missing limbs, cybernetics / prosthetics, whiskers

common: 100% pass rate
minor illusion magic, natural canine coloration, natural feline coloration, three tails, ear edits, short hair, teeth edits, long single point horns

uncommon: 50% pass rate
strong illusion magic, unnatural base coat, large unnatural markings, 4-5 tails, eye edits, tongue edits, fur length edits, 2-3 point horns, long hair, custom pupils/iris, scales, one extra eye, heterochromia

rare: 35% pass rate
kinesis magic (hydro, pyro, flora), tailless, extra ears, 2+ extra eyes, extra limbs, 4+ point horns, 6 tails, bioluminescence, tongue edits, genetically missing limbs, mammal or reptile gene splices, halos, gems, transparency w/o filling, second form (reptilian or human), plant growths (not replacing body parts), glowing, animal companion

legendary: 20% pass rate
7+ tails, goo/slime, other magic, unicorn horn, other creature gene splicing, wings, fins, transparency w/ filling, second form (other), tentacles, feathers, plant growths replacing body parts
