Elias was searching... not just for a thing- no that would be too easy wouldn't it? No, he was looking for a person. Namely, himself.

Elias' best friend had been sick, but- well.. it was a bit worse than that. In fact, Elias' greatest friend he had ever known was dying, and he could do nothing to stop it. In vain, he had researched strange illnesses and learned all he could, but it wasn't enough. There was no time for proper research, and in desperation, Elias swore his soul to as elder god in an effort to save his best friend- his other half.

He fell to the ground in relief when he found his dearest friend recovering; however, he did not know what he was signing himself up for when he made that deal. You see, he was tricked. His friend was never ill, no that had been a ploy to lure him into desperation. He had been cursed. Elias was fooled, and now he had to get his soul back before it was too late, and he would stop at nothing to get revenge on a god.
