My first winter event lion! I had a lot of fun with this painted design and these wintery colors!

Prompt: According to the legend of Koa Aka, in the Earth’s darkest hours, a mystical lion will be sent from the Heavens above. This lion will protect the Earth from The Shadows, not regular shadows however, this lion is here to combat the ever-hungry, all-consuming darkness that lies in wait in the Earth’s core, waiting for the moment to strike. These Shadows, unlike their harmless counterparts, are deadly and, to make them even more terrifying, they’re sentient.

It is foretold that the arrival of Koa Aka in Heaven’s Peak will signify the turning point in a war not yet begun with a foe not yet emerged. A threat completely unknown to most life on Earth. It is said that Koa Aka is sent to Earth, not only to protect the bodies of the lions, but to protect their fragile minds, for the mere knowledge of The Shadows will be enough to cause irreversible damage to the pride’s former way of life.

It is said that there is only one lion that is able to see Koa Aka, a blind shaman from the Pride of Neve. This blind shaman, however, despite not having fully functional eyes, is able to see the aura of lions, hyenas and even deities. It is said that the shaman lost his vision, and his sanity, when he was young, after setting his sights on The Shadow Warrior for the first time. The blinding aura burnt out his eyes and rendered his regular vision useless however, because of the event, Sakhina, The Fire Lord is now able to see and communicate with Koa Aka.

Due to this connection, once Koa Aka was finished battling The Shadows for the moment, she chose to stay on Earth rather than return to the Heavens. So, it is said that The Shadow Warrior will spend the rest of her days trailing The Fire Lord, finally being with the one living creature that can, in a way, see her. Finally knowing what it feels like to not be alone.

Prompt: Chiku (The one talking a lot) has many surrounding legends around her. But the pride of the sacred sands often regard her as a deity. Even if she isn't a 'true' godess. She is yet to accend, but it is told that she was created after the battle against the titan. When land, sky and sea crashed against one and another it created a new being. Namely Chiku..Which is why her fur consists of earth, water and the sky. Earth refers to her provideing shelter to whomever desires it, both figuratively and literary. Figuratively meaning that she is always there to provide comfort, through the beauty of nature. Literally trough natural structures like caves. Sky refers to travel. Since the wind often carries the rain and cloud from place to place. This is actually where her name come from! The wind likes to talk and when you listen closely you whould often hear her speaking! And finally the sea reffering to peace. Water is a peaceful entity often capable of turning violent. This is where the titan rose and fell, violence and peace as the whole cycle repeats. She aims to stop this cycle by ensureing all three worlds are at peace with eachother.

Thank you both for your entries! It was really hard to decide between them, but I really enjoyed the story potential this entry provided, how it tied into the last event and used the physical fur design/colors of this lion in a figurative/symbolic way for the stories and legends surrounding her.

But, because both entries were so lovely, I'm going to give Light Bringer a RU, it may take me a bit to get to designing them, but I'll try to get to it before the end of the month!! :D
