Fully hidden under the murky water, Menthe waited at the bottom of the marsh. Rare fish swam next to her, most of them too small to interest her at all. Sun, which rays didn't reach the depth where Menthe was now laying, was starting to roll past the zenith, blinding creatures who dared to look in it's direction. Almost still water felt comfortably warm and relaxing around Crowntail's body, yet she waited in suspense. It was almost impossible to see shadows on the top of the water from the marsh's bottom, but she was sure she'll feel the movement of something hitting the water.
Plop! -- little waves quickly moved through water, cast by something small falling at it. Menthe straightened her legs, snapping her head at the thing what disrupted the stillness of her hiding place, raising above the water. A toad leaped again, trying to escape from a sudden attack, but Crowtail snapped at it again, catching it's whole body in her teeth. Today's toad hunt was successful, and it filled Menthe with immerse joy.
