Teekins (Tidal seek kins) are small, beach-dwelling critters that excel at finding shiny things in the sand! Native to a country known as Vawari they idle along the coasts scooping up anything that washes ashore from the local shipwrecks. They are very friendly, often enlisted by the locals to gather supplies and things in exchange for good food or other items for trade! They live in packs and easily form bonds with humans and other species.
They live in burrows at the edges of the sand along the shore, and despite their locale they aren't the best swimmers! They'd rather be digging holes or climbing trees, or wading in the shallows as long as the tides aren't too dangerous. They do fancy playing in tide pools gathered in the rocks.
Their extra limbs give them a great grip and help them dig faster in the sand. Their watery ears, tail, and midsections are magical. They feel like their regular soft fur texture, but have a waterlike and semi-see-through quality. The exact origins of these features are unknown, but some propose it may be vestigial remains of a magical sea beast these critters may have evolved from in the distant past before deciding they liked living on land a little more.
Their smooshy noses are very boopable, thank you, and yes- you can boop the snoots. In fact, they find it quite funny.
Their front four 'paws' are more prehensile than normal paws, acting almost like hands to make it easier to grab and move things.
They have no natural predators along their beaches, so they are a bit naive, and often get themselves into trouble. Which is why they'd love to have a friend like you!

Adopts will be free and for sale
Brief rules if you adopt:
‣ The species is intended to just be for fun; please keep things polite/civil at all times, if you have problems feel free to bring it up to the owner to address
‣ Please do not add edits or change the design of your teekin without permission/the proper items! This is to maintain rarities and for archive purposes. You may edit accessories/expressions without an item.
‣ Please do not breed your Teekin outside of an official nursery/or without permission. (So as to keep track of the members of the species/for archiving purposes).
‣ Please do not make your own! they are a closed species; though I will never attack anything for being similar. As a courtesy, please don't claim its one of these if it isn't.
‣ Teekin may be removed from the species with the proper permission from the owner and artist. If so, you will need to make them a new reference.
‣ You may resell/trade Teekin that were purchased/traded for. You may ONLY resell/trade freely-obtained Teekin if you have obtained extra (nonfree) art to warrant the addition of a price. You may gift or readopt Teekin at any time. Any ownership changes must be noted ***PLEASE NOTE: Any teekins created that are explicitly 'based on' designs (based on canon things like pokemon/ect) CANNOT be resold/traded, only gifted or readopted. This is per CS rules.
‣ Please do not hassle others for their Teekins or over contests.
‣ I will never revoke designs that are legitimately obtained, but failure to comply with species rules repeatedly will result in a ban from the species and a ban from any future projects I work on. If you disagree with any rules, I'd ask that you either don't participate or you are welcome to speak to me directly; I'm always open to feedback and can compromise.
‣ If banned from the species, Any Teekin you own will be voided and you will be asked to not use their official/species artwork and to instead move them to a different non-Teekin reference.
‣ You can draw/write them in AUS (human/anthro/ect)

Rare:
More or less limbs, taller/shorter limbs, small fins, scale growth, Body spines/spikes, Halos, extra eyes, small feather growth
Special:
Wings, Elemental presentation (visible, physically attached magic),extra heads, gene splice, cyborg
Restricted/illegal:
No water-like features. (at least one part of their body will always have this quality!) Though it can be moved/any part
Completely different nose type (They will all have their squishy noses! Though some minor shape changes are fine) Things like beaks/cat or dog noses/ect won't happen

Teekin staff runs on a point system for rewards.
1 PAID adopt = 1 point; 1 FREE adopt = 2 points; Nursery batches = 1 point per teekling made; Growths/transfers = 2 points (free only)
1 week of moderator activity = 2 points
Other points may be awarded in cases of moderators/archivists on a case by case basis based on particular demands (large events/ect)
6 points = nonedited MYO
9 points = nursery batch*
(Nursery batches are still limited by breeding cooldown.)
12 points = uncommon myo
20 points = rare myo
