Ranesh’s greatest secret, and one held incredibly close to their chest, is that they were not born in Arcana. Instead, they were transported to the ever-changing shores as an adolescent, literally washing up upon the shoreline one misty morning. Their original world was one similarly divided by factions that sought to change the landscape to their wills, and was one their parents found their way to through strange, unknown machinations within the Spiraros.

Ranesh was thrown from their birthworld into Arcana during a magical sundering of reality that occurred on the plane. Lost and adrift in the realm of spirits and dreams, they ended up wandering out into the land of their parents, before washing up on the shores of the vast, endless ocean. Shaken by what they had seen factionalism become, Ranesh vowed not to repeat the mistakes they had seen, and journeyed to join the factionless arcantherans of the Neutros. They have told no-one of their origins, nor have they shared any of the fond memories they have from their birthworld, for fear of being viewed as somehow lesser for their origin.
