What are they?

Abythiols are a breed of oni-demon who most commonly found in the form of a hyena. They're known for their signature tusks and horns and spunky attitude.
An old urban legend details that the size of an abythiols' horns indicates how wise they are - but five minutes alone with any one of these creatures soon reveals the truth of their slippery idiotic selves.
Most commonly found roaming the plains of the savannah, these beasts spend their days picking on their fellow species and causing havoc in the neighbouring towns.
While most people view these animals as purely chaotic conniving critters; under the skin they're actually very complex - each gifted with a unique and complex personality just below the surface.
Abythiols are omnivores, usually averaging a size of 5ft (drastically bigger than their earthly counterparts). These beings do not need to eat; and usually hunt and feed for pure enjoyment. While they mainly reside in hot environments, a few brave abyths venture further into the colder regions to live among their fellow shifting species; ryerkol.

Abyerthol

What is an Abyerthol?
An abyerthol is a very rare mixed breed of both a ryerkol and an abythiol, commonly known as a mixed breed.
They're incredibly rare without the use of a gem, and have the combined traits of a ryer and an abyth
abyerthol have the following traits;
-The vents of a ryer
-Horns of an abyth
-The nose of a ryer
-Tusks of an abyth
-The faux tooth of a ryer
-The body shape of an abyth
And the tail, ears, and floor placement is usually a mix of them both

Not all abyerthol have every one of these traits, but they'll usually have a combination of 4-6

-Abyerthol use the trait list and archive of abythiols
-Abyerthol use the same rules as abythiols
-Abyerthol can breed with ryerkol or abythiols, or other mixed breeds
-Baby abyerthol are called yubs!

Rules


Abythiol must have the following traits:

-At least one set of horns
-At least one set of tusks
-An ear shape that resembles a hyena's
It's also noted that any muzzle shape change or leg shape changes (hooves for example) go under the trait 'genesplicing', even if its not based on a specific animal!

Main Rules

-You are not allowed to make your own abyth without permission/a MYO ticket. It's fine if your character happens to be a similar concept, but adapting the lore onto your character is not allowed.
-Do not use the lines for anything other than their intended purpose.
-You are not allowed to make abythiols to sell for profit (e.x. Adopts) you are allowed to take design commissions, but you can't sell an abythiol itself.
-Selling/Transferring abythiol for anything other than MYO tickets or other abythiol is not allowed.
-Calling out/attacking/hate is never tolerated, especially towards the owner (and any other staff)
-No mini-modding, report if something seems off!
-You can't alter abythiol designs once they're official unless you're tweaking traits, adding edit items or other 'everyday' traits. If you wish to alter a design further, please contact the owner!
-Designs can be transferred in and out but the owner must be aware.
-All humanoid designs require approval by the species owner before becoming official, PM me/ask on the main page for approval.
-There is no limit to the amount of abythiol you can own

Artist Rules

-Artists receive one 'Tier 1 Rare MYO' for every 3 adopts they make.
-Artists must complete at least 1 adopt each month.
-Artists are allowed to save up their rewards for better tickets, or trade down their rare tickets into multiple common/uncommon/standard tickets (upon request).
-If an artist is missing for more than a month (without explanation), they'll be labled as inactive
-If an artist has been missing for over 3 months (without explanation), they'll be removed from the team.
-Artists have the right to moderate and edit the archive, although they are not required to.
-Artists are allowed to create any rarity adopts *below* mythical (Standard - Rare), unless given permission otherwise.
-You must join the discord server.
-Artists are allowed breaks/hiatus' upon request <3

Guest Artist Rules

-Guest artist must make at least 2 adopts, but are welcome to make as many as 5.
-Guest artist have 30 days to make at least 2 adopts in order to receive payment.
-Guest artists get paid one 'Tier 1 Rare MYO' upon completing their trial.
-Guest artists are allowed to create any rarity adopts *below* mythical (Standard - Rare), unless given permission otherwise.
-You must join the discord server.
-Guest artists are allowed to request extensions, within reason <3

Moderator Rules

-Moderators are responsible for approving MYOs, handling the discord server, and generally keeping everything in check.
-Mods are paid one 'Tier 2 rare MYO' for every week of activity - this reward may increase as the species gains more activity.
-If a mod is missing for more than a month (without explanation), they'll be labled as inactive
-If a mod has been missing for over 3 months (without explanation), they'll be removed from the team.He
-Upper Moderators are an exclusive role, and will not be hired in the same way.
-You must join the discord server.
-Moderators are allowed breaks/hiatus' upon request <3

Archivist Rules

-Archivists have the responsibility of updating the archive
-They must update it at least once a month
-Archivists are only required to add the main page adopts, and do not need to worry about MYOs/Nursery batches
-Archivists are allowed to edit the look of the archive, so long as they have had permission first.
-Archivists receive one 'Tier 2 rare MYO' for every 12 adopts they add to the archive - this reward may change as the species gains more activity.
-Archivists are allowed to save up their rewards for better tickets, or trade down their rare tickets into multiple common/uncommon/standard tickets (upon request).
-If an archivist is missing for more than a month (without explanation), they'll be labled as inactive
-If an archivist has been missing for over 3 months (without explanation), they'll be removed from the team.
-You must join the discord server.
-Archivists are allowed breaks/hiatus' upon request <3

Humanoid Forms

-Humanoid forms can behave like shapeshifters, being able to shift at will, or more like werewolves, shifting during the full moon or some other special time. You can choose which, or merge both, depending on your preferences or your own world's lore.
-The following traits must remain the same on human versions of abythiol:
- Eye colour (including sclera)
- Horns/Tusks, Wings and scars/missing limbs (If any)
- General colour scheme (This is important!)

-Humanized abythiol must get permission from the species owner before becoming official, whether through discord or PMs.
-You can choose whether the humanized design includes animalistic features (such as ears, tail, etc) or if you want them fully humanoid. Feel free to have them shift between, too!
-When sending for approval, include your abythiol's original ref too!

I'm not going to be too strict with humanoid designs, and your art style/ability will never differ me from approving.

Disco is our species' mascot! They're a curious, mischievous fella with a love of chaos and the unknown. They're always open for an adventure and meeting new people. They'll happily introduce you to the place, just make sure they don't prank you along the way ;)

Robin
They/Them/She/Her
Robin is a bit of a bonkers person. They're very sarcastic and witty, always quick with a joke or a comment. Despite her cold outward personality, they're very protective of their friends and family - especially of her sister, Mona. Robin's biggest dream is to become a millionaire from selling goods >:) ...or at least, that what she says.

She/Her
Sage is one of those people that EVERYONE gets along with, even though she’s not good w talking to new people, she loves making new friends! Sage is a very sweet person, although she will not hold back to fight back if you get on her bad side. Sage’s heart on her back left leg represents how much she loves her closest friends and how much they’ve helped her w simple tasks.

Big Bubba
He/Him/They/Them
Big bubba is a gentle giant, he has Gigantism and is albino. Bubba is a sweetheart who could never hurt a fly.. unless that fly was hurting his friends, then he's cut their lives short. He has a Ryerkol husband named Nagito, who he loves dearly, to the point where he put a ring on it ;). Bubba is fluffy and sheds ooooften, totally banned off the couch. oh, and he's allergic to shellfish!

Shredder
He/Him/They/Them
As his appearance suggests, Shredder is a mischievous type. He loves to cause mayhem wherever he goes, often using his snake companion from his markings to accomplish this. His multiple eyes have an unsettling feel about them, though at times he hides them on the rare occasion he doesn't wish to scare them.
Most Abyth's that have revealed themselves thus far have only shown one set of horns. Shredder, on the other hand, displays two sets. Being the size of their horns determine their wisdom, as do Shredder's. The larger set indicates his "street smarts", and the smaller set, "book smarts".
Lastly, his coat changes from a medium blue-grey to an offset white. This can happen either at will, or more commonly when he traverses into the land of the Ryerkols where the weather is colder, and the white fur aids in camouflage.

buck (or buckwheat) is just your friendly and kinda chaotic ranch hand . he’ll take any chance he gets to get away from his cows and spend time with others he cares for . he has a collie , thimble , who he takes with him almost all the time , even though she’s mainly a ranch dog . otherwise, the cream abythiol man is far from what you would expect at first glance ,

These lion-dogs are related to Foo Dogs, which are east asian legendary creatures that guard homes. This special variation of foo dogs are literally drawn-to-life by children (which is what that scroll holds) and become their guardian. They may stay with the child until they grow up and pass away, or a child may forget their dog as they grow older, and that dog roams the earth in search of a new friend.
