quick design, hope you all like this one and the competition !!
i'm not into crystals but i am curious -- and i think this fumi would be a collector ! to win them, tell me what crystals they have in their collection and why! (can be where they found it, or the function of the crystal, etc). you don't have to be knowledgeable about these to enter, there's tons of resources online !
you can format however you want, but please list a few different crystals and the meaning behind them. this can be done by stating the name/describing them, linking an image, drawing, etc. prettying up is fine but no extras besides what is related to the prompt!

name; Ori (mean's "My Light")
their collection;
Ori's collection is quite expansive, her bedroom is overflowing with seemingly endless species of plants, crystals and small pets. It has a gentle, relaxing purple-blue light from the combination of the sun in her curtains and her favorite fairy lights that change colors- and it always smells of some type of berry and flower combination, almost giving it a type of tropical fruit-punch scent.
While many would argue that the best features in her room are her sprawling purple hanging plants or her massive indigo-hued aquarium, Ori's favorite place in her room are the multiple shelves lining her walls and floor with hundreds upon hundreds of dazzling crystals and minerals. While she couldn't even begin to try to explain what every single piece means in her collection, as there simply isn't enough time in a day, she will gladly point out some of her personal favorites, mostly gifted by friends and family or somehow found their way along her path.Clear Quartz
Clear Quartz is considered a staple in crystal collecting and healing, it is a clear crystal that's usually in points or clusters but can also be purchased raw or tumbled into a palm-sized piece. Ori's piece is a cluster of points gifted to her by her mother, who also collects crystals!
Clear Quartz's healing powers clear negative energy from a person, a room or another object, Ori uses hers to keep the vibrations in her home nice and relaxing as she suffers from anxiety.
It's associated with the crown chakra and the third eye chakra, both of which are places that Ori has been told she tends to end up with energy blockages in, mostly due to the fact that she is sensitive to things that most others cannot see, and so her mother sought out to get her daughter her very own clear quartz cluster.
This type of crystal is also said to amplify and purify the energy of other crystals and can even be used to cleanse other minerals and gems. It's not unusual to see this crystal near others in its little space or even next to a plant that's having a little bit of trouble.
Ori also owns multiple jewelry pieces that include focal points of clear quartz, as the crystal has so much sentimental value to her, she also enjoys keeping a piece close to herself as it reminds her of her mom.Amethyst
Because she is prone to migraines as well as her previously mentioned anxiety, Ori couldn't pass up the chance to add a beautiful amethyst geode to her collection.
When she first obtained the geode, she had purchased it from her local metaphysics shop, and while it did cost a pretty penny, upon lifting it up she understood why. The geode is exceptionally heavy and large in size, though it is struck in half at such an angle that it practically looks like an endless galaxy.
Ori's geode has hardly moved from its place in her room atop her highest shelf, always catching the lights in a flattering way that won't cause any harm or bleaching to the crystals within. It shimmers and sparkles, catching the attention of anyone with an eye for something sparkly.
Ever since the geode has been in her home, Ori's headaches have all but dissipated and her mind seems to clear up the second she walks in the door, even moreso when she reaches her bedroom to tend to her tropical fish.
She even has the papers that she obtained with the geode stating its authenticity and it's healing properties.
"Amethyst Geode - A Crystal that heals the tired, this amethyst geode was found deep within a cave... It replenishes creative energy and helps to clear chakra blockages, offers spiritual protection and eases the mind to aid in battling insomnia, nightmares and difficulty sleeping." Selenite
Much like her clear quartz, Ori has a large pillar of Selenite in her room.
Said to cleanse, charge and revitalize other crystals, Selenite has found its way into Ori's life as a birthday gift from her friend Chloe after listening to Ori talk about wanting more white or clear crystals to purify her bedroom's energy and boost that of her collection.
To avoid getting it wet and potentially ruining it, Ori keeps her selenite on the other side of the room away from her aquarium, though it still catches the lights beautifully and shimmers subtly in the glow.
Ori did her research as well upon getting this crystal and discovered something about it as well as herself, it has deep connections to the moon and lunar energy, something that Ori has had since early childhood, always gazing up at the moons from her home planet and dreaming of some day spending time there.
Her selenite reminds her of home and has since then grown to be one of, if not her favorite crystal of all time, and she even got a similar piece for her mother, of whom fell in love with the sparkling, shining pillar in Ori's bedroom. "Thanks, Chloe!"Snowflake Obsidian
A Gift from her father, Ori's snowflake obsidian happened accidentally when he lost it in her bedroom from his pocket on her birthday. Bringing her a slice of chocolate cake after she retreated for a moment to find the perfect place for her selenite pillar, the crystal managed to make a leap from his pocket and somewhere in her dark-carpeted floor.
The obsidian hid out for most of the day and the entire duration of the party, waiting patiently for Ori and her parents to return to her room to look for it, where it had been laying in the floor as if it was waiting patiently to be noticed.
Ori's father claimed that it seemed to like her more, and that he would find a different piece for himself, gifting the crystal to her for her birthday.
Snowflake obsidian is a powerful crystal known for its abilities to manifest personal transformation, balance thoughts and emotions, change negative thought and behavioral patterns and assist it's owner in tasks that require focus and clarity of the mind.
Ori has since then collected multiple jewelry pieces containing this crystal as well, as it reminds her of her dad and her life back home.Sodalite
A Crystal that keeps accidentally finding its way back into Ori's life, Sodalite has caused her to surrender to its persistence and collect multiple pieces.
The first time Ori encountered a piece of sodalite, she was hiking with her family and friends when something found its way into her shoes. Shaking them out in her lap, she discovered a perfectly smooth rock with swirling blue, brown and white patterns.
Her friend immediately identified the rock as Sodalite and claimed it must've been good luck and a sign for Ori to keep it for her collection. A Few years later, Ori would try to gift this piece to her aunt, but ultimately it found its way back to her in the form of a necklace, her aunt saying that she was pestered by dreams telling her to make the rock into a pendant and give it back to her niece.
Ori has also been gifted Sodalite by estranged family members, childhood friends that had previously fallen out of contact with her, and even as prizes for games from absolute strangers. She also tends to find it more and more on her walks, always keeping an eye out for a glint of dark blue among the seashells and pebbles.
Sodalite is said to increase one's awareness of the self, helping to clear away negative or harmful traits and habits and make room for personal growth and transformation as well as easing the symptoms of anxiety and digestive issues.
It helps others speak their truth and voice their opinions and beliefs without fear or nervousness and stand up for what they believe in, helping them to set healthy boundaries and communicate clearly with others, something that Ori is thankful for.

Name; Laur
Their collection; Laur began gathering crystals years ago simply because she was fascinated by the shiny rocks. Her initial interest in them was just to have them on display, refracting sunlight that beamed through the leaves of the large magnolia tree she called home. Eventually, a friend who was visiting commented on Laur's vast collection, saying she had a stone just for about any trouble that she could possibly come by. Laur soon began asking around about what power these crystals were said to possess.
Her favorite stone, which she has always kept near, was identified as selenite. It is said to have cleansing and protective properties, guarding the beholders against dangers from other realms. Laur had initially taken it into her possession because of how light bounced off of it, casting a ray of brightness.
As she learned more about her crystals, Laur found it easy to weave them into her everyday life. Ever since she was a little sprout, her mind plagued her with unsettling night terrors. While many stemmed from unfounded fears of a young mind, they still persisted into her adult life. After some experimenting to find which variation worked best, Laur found charoite to keep away the nightmares and give her a full night's rest.

their collection; they collect many quartz, usually
these kind of quartz over rose quartz or other quartz! It's extremely abundant and they love all kinds of shapes they're made into. They especially love the rainbow that can be seen in it when light touches it.
She's known for curling up next to the quartz, watching the light bounce around and sparkle with rainbows. It intrigues and makes her happy.

(plug earrings)
bravery - healing - love
"i've had these for a very long time," she muses, popping the plug from her ear and turning it over in her hand. her thumb presses across the surface, and she inhales deeply.
"my mother gave them to me the night of my first audition. i don't know if i believed crystals had power before that night, but they filled me with a bravery i needed. perhaps they're just filled with her love."
garnet
(ring)
passion - energy - vigor
"this i don't wear often," she admits, holding the ring up for the cameras to see. she passes it to me as well - something she didn't do with the first crystals. perhaps those held a little more meaning than i realized.
"but isn't it pretty? a garnet is a stone of passion." she winks, and we both laugh. an intimate one-on-one interview, sure, but hardly a passionate moment.
"there's more to passion than romance, much more. passion comes when you pour your heart into something. but i keep this one around for the days when the world wears me down, and i need to find that little spark of passion again. on the stage, you're acting, you're singing, you're dancing - but everyone knows if you're doing it without passion. they don't want to see the show for the lines. they want to experience the passion."
turquoise
(polished stone)
throat - restoration - communication
"now this one i suppose you recognize." this crystal, too, i'm allowed to hold. i ask if it's turquoise, to which she nods with a full, bright laugh.
"yes, and what i imagine you didn't know is that it helps heal a sore throat."
jokingly, i ask if she uses it like a lozenge. i wonder if she hated the joke, but she's an actress, and certainly doesn't let it show if so.
"no, no. but you can imagine when you're leading in a musical, the last thing you want is to lose your voice. don't get me wrong - i'll still use medicine when necessary. but healing isn't just of the body, it's of the spirit too."
serpentine
(beaded bracelet)
spirituality - self-care - prosperity
"on that note, i have one more to show you." a string of beads is held aloft, and she gently places them around my wrist. "we all could use a bit of a break from our physical worries, wouldn't you say?" of course i agree, who wouldn't? she lets out another joyous laugh, her brilliant smile glinting in the studio lighting.
"serpentine allows us to break away from the physical world, and find focus in our spiritual world. and," she adds, that coy look crossing her lips once more, "it brings prosperity, too." i ask her where i can get some, and show off the lovely bracelet to the cameras before returning it to her porcelain hand.
"oh, crystals are everywhere, all around us. if you open yourself to the idea, i think you'll find they can make a world of difference."
as the interview concludes, i shake her hand and thank her once again.
"it's too bad we couldn't get through all your crystals," i comment as she gathers up a rather impressive collection.
"oh, well i don't want you getting to know me too well," she teases.
"it makes you different," i add quickly, before she turns away. "your belief in these, i mean."
hesitating, she gives me a slightly odd smile.
"i guess you could say it runs in the family."
