Lampyri-Fae

Lamp-peer-e-fay

Lampyri-Fae are a bioluminescent breed of Fae, who are more kin to the Lampyridae (Fireflies) than traditional fae. Just like the traditional fae, Lampyri-Faes enjoy milk, honey and sugary treats. Lampyri-Fae are commonly mistaken as fireflies, Christmas lights, and light orbs often caught on camera. Sometimes you'll see them hitching a ride on the taillights of cars at night, or hiding in your holiday decorations year round. Just like the traditional fae, Lampyri-Fae are fairly small, ranging from 3-6 inches tall. They're easily befriended (With the right treats of course!) however, their idea of friendship mostly consists of hiding your car keys and shiny jewelry.

What's their favorite holiday? (400 Words max!) Hara's favorite holiday is known as "Epiphany". Epiphany is celebrated in many different cultures by the Christian Church. It is considered the day the Magi Kings visited baby Jesus or, in Eastern lore, the day Jesus was baptized, but that's not what intrigues her about the holiday. She was drawn into this holiday because of the Belfana, a witch who lives in the mountains only descending the night before the Epiphany to leaves gift, mostly in the form of candies, to the good children. To the naughty children, she left coal, alleged to be a symbol of warmth which could potentially be to make up for a lack of warmth in their lives that caused their naughty behavior. However, this woman wasn't really a witch, instead, she is thought to be the woman who pointed the Kings to Jesus, or in Roman lore, she is seen as mother nature itself offering up one last gift before she died. In a poetic sense, Hara seems to find this gift of excitement or warmth as a departing message quite lovely, albeit tragic. In her childhood, she never really knew of this holiday, but as she grew older and delved into the different traditions in other cultures this one called to her. It was discovered in its entirety during her dive into paganism where the lore and traditions are diverse due to the mix of the holiday's lore from other cultures being brought together. Mother Nature has also always been a symbol to her of warmth, care, and nurturance in a space (world) that can sometimes be unforgiving, cold, and cruel.

What's their favorite holiday?: Cristallinus has a soft spot for New Year's day, because it represents the transition from the old into the new. There's also tons of sparkly things for Cristallinus to admire (and quite possibly steal, if they get the chance~), and food everywhere in celebration. Sure, there's lots of opportunities with Christmas or Valentines Day, but Cristallinus never knows what to get for any of their friends on those holidays.

Chaya's favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. She loves to eat food, and during Thanksgiving, she can always find an endless supply of food from the houses she likes to visit. Her favorite thing are all the different kind of pies, such as apple, peach, and pumpkin that she gets to try on Thanksgiving.
