Forgot, the hack, Hands touch the Sky

The human's off, he stands and bows,
His glory quaff, vic'try avowed.

The crowd apprise him on the stand
A neck-worn prize they place in hand.

And now, a nip, the usual fare;
They hear a rip come from his hair.

For here's the thing - 'drove her berserk
Despite this bling - It was her work!

And all she'd ask for was a treat
Just some small task, something to eat!

For her if gifts come with delay
Riders wear quiffs from a toupee.

I really love the colour combo of the high-contrast monochrome + the soft gold type of tone and I kinda just?? had to enter?? If that makes sense?

i almost entered, but poetry doesnt come easily to me and i thought your poem was great (i thoroughly enjoyed it and i love the humorous bit at the end, a very nice touch that made me smile when i read it!) and truly believed you deserved to have her so i decided not to go for it!!! meteor is a very lovely lady, congrats chamrosh!

lol, I really stink at poetry myself and probably need to practice more. I’ve found myself in your shoes often. Just looking at an amazing entry and thinking... well I’m doomed but nice piece!
