The Canam Dog was developed in the last 20 years by flyball enthusiasts in an effort to create the perfect flyball dog. They were named after the largest annual tournament, the CanAm Flyball Classic.

It was a lovely summers day, sunny and not too warm. A perfect day for the beach! Cosette packed up a few essentials before escorting the 3 excited dogs, Florence, Rhaego and Bonnie, into the back seats of her car. They only lived a few miles from a secluded beach that Cosette knew would be fairly empty as not many people knew about it. Once there, she quickly checked the beach to make sure nobody was there before opening the door of the car and unleashing the dogs onto the sand. She watched them bound across the small beach and dive head first into the blue sea, smiling, she grabbed the bag she had packed and found a spot to sit and enjoy the sun. Not long after she had settled, the dogs stopped playing, their attention on something just out of view down the beach. They splashed their way onto the sand and headed towards a person with another dog. Cosette stood quickly and whistled urgently to them but only Florence and Rhaego ran back to her side. Bonnie stood there staring at the other dog and wagging her tail slowly. She appeared to cock her head to the side and then launched herself towards him, It was Pique!

Story: After being on the road for so long, Hawk finally seemed to be happy to have a stop, what he didn’t know was that it was gonna be a visit to a dear sibling. When they had pulled into the location for the meet up, Hawk would realize where he was and begun yapping and barking as loud as possible, wagging his tail as he pulled on his leash, something he rarely did. Seeing his brother come out from the other car and wagging as hard as he was, a great reaction to seeing him again. Seeing the smiling face of his brother overjoyed Hawk and he was just happy to once again spend time with his brother. ((Please tell me if it’s too long, I am on a phone and can’t tell, thank you!))

All Honeybee knew was that her and her person were on their way to her favorite track, though she spotted a dog and their person through the window, how odd– other dogs weren’t usually here. As soon as the door opened, Bee began to approach the strangers cautiously, though as she advanced towards them, the dog’s scent became more and more familiar. It was only when the dog barked that she recognized him as her brother, she suddenly began into a sprint, her brother doing the same as soon as he was unleashed. They met in the middle, leaping and barking with excitement, Honeybee whimpered happily and then she suddenly began to jet around with the zoomies. By the end of the day, her and Pique laid out in the sun enjoying each other’s presence peacefully, it’d been an excitable day of playing and running the track. [5 lines.]

Story: It was at one of the local flyball tournaments. As he was awaiting his call with the team he looked around at all the other dogs. He could feel the good sports, it radiated form everyone there. He found himself letting out a big sigh, he wasn't exactly sure why he had, it's not like he was bored or tired. A particular dog had caught his eyes, he could've sworn he wasn't hallucinating.
"Hey buddy," his owner called softly noticing the dog's focus drifting and a whole new energy glowing from their furry companion. "What's wrong?" they crouched down slightly but before the dog could look at him the bell rang and the teams were called.
Challenge after challenge, race after race. And still he felt indifferent. but that dog.. He knew he wasn't seeing things, that dog was what was on his mind since the race was over. "Come on buddy.." his owner coaxed softly while leading him on the leash. "There's someone Waiting for you I'd like you to meet~" the soothing, laid-back voice of his owner rung with a great hint of joy. It intrigued him none the less, his focus turning toward his following task.
But then there he was again, that same dog he had seen earlier! A flashed glimpse through the crowd, from what he could make out he was interacting with his owner. Curiosity was consuming him he didn't even realize he was heading in the direction. Before he knew it Kai alongside his owner waiting until the rondevous, as another person neared them- Wait.. That's it! That's the canid he saw!
All his muscles moving at one as his owner struggled to hold him, Kai desperately pulled forward to the point where he was practically rearing up, whimpering and whining in excitement "
Pique!!" He cried out at the top of his heart, unable to hold back the joy and desire to tackle his baby brother. it felt like forever since they last saw of each other. "Pique!" He cried again as the lead finally slipped from the owner's fingers and he dashed forward squirming and wiggling as he hugged up on his brother, meeting him halfway.
The energy practically bursting from him as he hoped over his brother's back before tackling him in his front paws licking his ear.
"It's him It's really him!!" he thought "I missed you so much..."

sorry it was never specified who was older, so I kinda took the idea of Pique being younger by a minute or few.
oh and just in case you were wondering 3 to 400 words is what classifies as a short story for me. especially since I usually write 4 to 6 thousand word stories a day.

Winnie's tail was wagging so fast that his butt was shaking along with it. The dog whined and pressed his face up against the window, fogging up the glass with his breath, but he'd already seen it- the dog park.
They were at the dog park, but why here and why now!?
The car pulled into the parking lot and Winnie let out a loud bark of excitement.
His owner (who Winnie could tell was radiating exhilaration) got out of the car and didn't take Winnie with him, and that was a little bit odd in Winnie's opinion, so he barked loudly and pushed himself at the door.
But then he saw it, or rather, them- It was Winnie's brother, Pique, and Pique's owner! Winnie howled and scratched at the window, and when his owner finally opened the door, he ran as fast as his legs could take him and bowled into Pique, who yelped and began wrestling with his brother in enthusiasm.
Winnie's joy was immeasurable and his happiness was off the charts- everything had happened so fast but these moments were certainly going to be ones he remembered.

Story: Rascall tilted his head as he heard his owner talking with someone else with the mobile. He wagged slightly his tail and looked at the human as he heard some words he like: "park, play, walk". He only felt more curious, when his human came closer and put him the collar and the leash, where were we going? Rascall barked as the human lead him out of home.
After a walk, there they were. Rascall barked happily as he spotted the dog park: a big place with a lot of trees and different obstacles to play and train. His human let him free and he quickly dashed off, wanting to greet the other dogs and examine everything. Then, he saw it. His human was greeting another dog! He ran towards them and suddenly, after sniffing him, he recognised Pique, his brother! After whine a bit due to his excitement, both dogs started to run through the park, playing and enjoying this moment, they were together again like when they were pups! It was a nice afternoon, full of games and fun.

Straining against the hold on his collar, adrenaline almost palpable in the air, Picasso waited, ears trembling and eyes focused straight ahead.
As soon as the dog running back towards him crossed that last jump, the hold was loosened, and off he went, taking each jump in his stride, eyes focused solely on the ball sitting, waiting for him at the end of the track.

Slamming his front paws into the little block, his mouth closed firmly around his target, making him spin, the final kick to the finish line looming before him, the rest of the team cheering him on, calling him forward, waiting for him to arrive.
Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the blur at the next track, also turning, also beginning the race back, and, with a determined clench of his jaw, Picasso pushed with all his might, trying desperately to get to the end of his track before his competitor did the same.

It took a mere few seconds before he was back in the arms of his human, but he hadn't been fast enough - the other team had been announced the winner.

He kept to his owner's heel as humans shook hands, showing animosity that Picasso didn't feel in that exact moment.
As his human approached the owner of the dog that had pipped him to the post, Picasso froze, and, just like a mirror image, so did his competitor, both frozen with some sort of primal recognition, before, ever so slowly, tails began to wag.

As words passed over their heads about congratulations and unbelievable coincidences, the brothers bounced into matching play bows, competitiveness replaced by puppy-like playfulness thanks to their surprise reunion.
