Name: Calliope
Gender: Female
Prompt: They used to be insecure about their heterochromia. Anywhere they went others would stare -and whisper- about it. While it is not exactly rare in Simas it is uncommon and no one in her family had the mutation... And so she was mostly kept hidden away and did not go out in public much.

She believed herself to be ugly due to the whispers, the teasing from the other Simas her age. There was a Sima who moved in to near her shortly after she started wearing an eyepatch over one eye or the other to hide that they were not the same colour. This Sima also had Heterochromia - a strikingly beautiful combination of teal and a forest green - and Calliope felt drawn to them right away. This Sima became their best friend and with their confidence in their eyes Calliope gained confidence in hers. Their friend pointed out that their eyes matched their gem - and no one made fun of Calliope for that, did they? Nope! A lot of them thought her gem was pretty. The colours went well together.

Now Calliope doesnt wear an eyepatch and proudly shows off her odd eyes.

Name: Rosalinda "Rose" Hayes
Gender: Female
Prompt:
For the longest time, Rose hated her leg tufts. They were an odd color and looked weird on her body. When she was a kit, it gave the illusion that her forelegs were too big for her body which caused endless teasing. As she got older, she took to shaving the tufts although was reluctant to use a potion or other tool to permanently get rid of it. She was happy to forgo the teasing, but there always remained a kernel of shame inside of her. Sometimes, she wondered if her life would be different without the tufts or if they looked different or were a different color or were different somehow. It's just that there was always this nagging sense of wrongness about them that she couldn't seem to shake.

Something changed when she went on vacation to the arctic regions, hoping to meet some peppermint spice simas or possibly even some primals, which were the stuff of legends in her little community. She'd signed herself up for a three month trip, partially to get away and partially to meet someone new. While she was there, she discovered something that changed everything: no one cared. Outside of the Glade, there were simas with all sorts of colors and mutations. Some were beautiful, some were cute, some were average, and some were ugly. But no one cared. No one cared if someone's leg tuft was a bit too long or "didn't match" the rest of her colors. So she started growing it out, bit by bit. If she got any comments, it was about how soft it looked or how the color "popped" against the pink of the rest of her fur. It took her a few weeks from when she decided to stop shaving the tufts to get the confidence to also stop wearing things over it, but she eventually reached that point where she just didn't care. They were her little tufts, no matter how odd they were, and she would never go back to the way it used to be.

Now, back in the Glade, she would receive the occasional snide comment but one glare silenced anyone who tried getting past a sentence or two. They were her tufts and she would be proud of them.

This sima will be going to simonpet! I'd like to give a 5 HC ru to Ardra because your entry reminded me of the short story that inspired this sima.

Ahh thank you!! And good luck, Ardra. I rather liked your story, too. <3

@wuc: Do you have Rose’s psd? If I could have access to the layers, that’d be wonderful.
