These two kids were found cuddling by a couple in a park during a pride parade, we’re surprised nobody wanted to immediately take them in!

Birdie was born to a beautiful mother, who had been dumped on the side of the road and made a living off of scraps and the occasional kindness of a person in the city. Though despite how sweet her mother was, she’d do anything to keep her puppies safe, even if it meant acting out in a manner that was unfamiliar to her. One day a small child was walking alongside his mother, and happen to catch a glimpse of [puppy] Birdie in an ally and slipped away to try and grab her. Instinctively Birdie let out a yelp, alerting her siblings and mother of her fear, suddenly her mother charged the child– taking his arm between her jaws. Of course, the kid yelled out for him mother who threw her hand up as if she was about to hit the mother dog, so she turned tail and fled with her puppies on her heels. It wasn’t long before animal control came and took her, accidentally leaving Birdie behind.
It was a few days after that she met Aspen, their story was similar in ways, and they just clicked. Since then the two of them were inseparable, but Birdie only views Aspen as her best friend, maybe even her sister. And like her mother, Birdie would do anything to keep the feline safe.

As young as Aspen was, with all the unfamiliar sounds and sights she was scared, and tried to convince her mother to go somewhere safe. But her mother insisted on finding their people or maybe even new ones. One day her mother decided to follow a group of people across a crosswalk, but the engines of the lines up vehicles spooked Aspen, and she bolted back where they came expecting her mother to follow suite, but she never did.
It had been a week or more before she was discovered by the dog she calls her best friend. Aspen views Birdie as the best thing on earth, she even has feelings for her... but Birdie is absolutely oblivious to it. Maybe it’s for the best? Dogs and cats aren’t meant to be. Of course, Aspen wouldn’t ever speak on her feelings toward Birdie, in fact she’s never told anyone– but the way she looks at her would simple give it off.
