She thinks that love is a similar bond someone would have with their family, and that's always good. To Twilight, love is a beautiful thing that comes in many different forms. In fact, she is quick to cite the Ancient Greeks who had seven words for love, each as valid and as true as the others. From romantic, to familial, to friendship, to self love, and all the others, each type is equally important. And to give someone love, no matter the form, means giving them a piece of yourself without expecting anything in return.

It can be risky, that she knows, because in opening your heart you open yourself to hurt you cannot control. But to her it’s worth it in the end, if you’re careful. While people are free to love as they please, she takes a willing but cautious approach to it. She gives a little before giving it all, testing the waters and getting to know whomever it is.

This is especially true for any romantic endeavors she finds herself in. Love to her is more than the physical things, more than appearances or actions; love is true care and concern for another. It’s getting to know someone, wanting to spend as much time as you can with them and be closer to them mentally and emotionally than just about anyone else.
