The Canam Dog was developed in the last 20 years by flyball enthusiasts in an effort to create the perfect flyball dog. They were named after the largest annual tournament, the CanAm Flyball Classic.
Bold and friendly. Athletic and gritty. In the ring they are a tenacious, explosive, and focused racer. At home they are playful but relaxed and overwhelmingly affectionate.

Welcome to the Canam Dog Whelping Box! Please read this thread to learn about how to breed your Canams.

Breeding Eligibility

To be eligible to breed,

• Both dogs must have updated kennel pages
  
• Both dogs must achieve their FD flyball title
  
• Both dog must pass all CHCP health clearances

Rules and Guidelines

• Request forms must be filled out completely and without any extra bbcode. Forms will be skipped over if they do not follow this rule.
  
• We have 3 staff artists and guest artists. Each artist will post here when they have breeding slots available.
  
• Dogs have 4 breeding slots each
• You can have up to 2 breedings a month
• Breedings must be male x female
• Co breeding (breedings between 2 users) forms must include proof of consent and agreement on who will get first pick of the litter from both parties;
  ie “I agree to let user1 breed my dog Spot to their dog Bella. I, user2, will get 1st and 4th pick of the litter and user1 will get 2nd and 3rd pick.”
• Co breedings can have 2 or 4 puppies
• Single user breedings can have 1 or 2 puppies
• Number of puppies in a litter is determined by RNG
• Dams will have a break period of 3 weeks between nursing litters
• Puppies become adults between 10-14 days
• Puppies reach breeding age 3 weeks after their posted date

Breeding Perks

• If both parents of a litter are in the A tier for flyball, their offspring will start flyball in the C3 tier
  
• If both parents have excellent hips/elbows ratings, the offspring will not fail their hip/elbow tests
  
• If a dog has achieved their ONYX in flyball, they will get a 5th breeding slot

Breeding Lethalities, Impairments, and Special Circumstances

• If a puppy rolls 2 copies of the KIT mutation it is reabsorbed in the womb and still counts for one of the puppies in the litter. It will not be rerolled.
  
• If a puppy rolls 2 copies of sw, the puppy has 5% chance of being unilaterally deaf and 5% chance of being bilaterally deaf. These puppies must take the BAER test to determine their hearing abilities.
  
• If chimerism is rolled, 2 puppies in the litter will absorb into one another to create 1 puppy. Dogs with chimerism are sterile.
