Turtle cared for the great tree as all members of this land did, but in her opinion the world was too dry, the she-cat always being drawn more towards the water than land. Often being found out in the rains that would fall here as others took shelter. Jumping and dancing in the droplets as if she hoped to control them into a form of its own. An invisible partner who would dance alongside with grace cool and flowing like its origin.

When the strangers from other worlds arrived Turtle was unsure of her goddesses decision. If only she could wash away the beasts they wouldn't need the help of strangers. Yet, as the days wore on she found herself mingling more and more with these strange cats. Learning of the different lands they came from. Some filled with similar beasts, others to her horror lacking almost all traces of water. When she met with a tom named Limpet the water lovers heart couldn't help but beat frantically at his homes description. Seemingly ignoring the leaders words of warning of the Marsh's dangers. "When this battle is over I shall expect to come with you to this realm of water! Surely there I can master my skills to control it!" Without wating for an answer the excited she-cat bounded off, not seeing the look of fear cross Limpet's face. "But... the water badgers."

The last traces of the world above disappeared and as they sunk further into the abyss all light paled away until only streaks of faint silver could be seen. Acorn wanted to shout, however they knew that the water around them would be detrimental to their health if they did.
So they turned to thrashing in the watery abyss. It did no good, all hope seeming to vanish from the horizon until a prickle was felt at their side of the tides shifting. The pull that had dragged them down began to push them back up, raising them higher until the world came back into focus and the world was within reach again.
Yet they were tired and belatedly thought, as a maw reached in and grabbed their scruff that if it wasn't for the miracle that had just happened they would have drowned. What stuck out to them, as they were pulled from the water, mind beginning to go fuzzy as the air flooded back into their system, was the way the water pushed them up. It was disobeying all laws of physics to do as it pleased and as the stranger who had pulled them from the water whispered something they watched the water snap back into play.

When the world spun back into focus later which was shortly followed by the realization they had fallen asleep Acorn was met with the stranger who had saved their life. Acorn vowed their life over to the stranger, expressing deep gratitude and anything the stranger could want as thanks- only they had one question.

"How did you control the water?"

The stranger had paled slightly and admitted to their domain over the ocean, rivers, and anything that flowed with water. It occurred to Acorn that, if they had been blessed with such powers they wouldn't have narrowly avoided his own death- they wouldn't be in debt to a stranger.

If only water would have obeyed their pleas.
