companion: The steady and sturdy Ox companion named Cloven. He has a small curved set of horns and a nice light brown coat of curly hair. His bangs sometimes get so long that they flop in front of his eyes

As Hawthorne roams the lands, Cloven is beside the fox plodding at a steady pace. During the planting season, there is nothing more helpful than an extra hand or hoof. For a stay and a few meals, Hawthorne and Cloven will take up the tools and fasten the yoke to ease the burdens of the season.

There is nothing more satisfying than watching the fields afterwards. Cloven can stay so still that birds sometimes land perch on him. With the spring breeze rustling through the grass and birds chirping sweetly, its a content time.
