”After spending your vacation on the secluded island of Dekros, you find an unexpected surprise on one of the beaches. It looks like a Mink! You’ve seen them before back home and with the seafarers at the dock, but this one is wild. Will you attempt to gain its favor?”

username; happy59188
name; Baxter
gender; male
poem;

If you always try your best,
then you'll never have to wonder
about what you could have done
if you had summoned all your thunder.

And if your best
was not as good
as you hoped it would be
You could say;
"I gave today,
all that I had in me."

the spirit to live
why? why? why?
it finds itself broken
a wasted breath
a shattered spirit.
why?
somehow i'm still alive.
scattered joy
broken peace
the loved ones never found.
the distant
rustle
on the forest floors.
the dark,
sweeping corridors.
somehow we're still alive.
life is like a broken record.
spinning and creaking and
breaking.

warnings.
why? why? why?
huddled up
threat! threat!
inky skies
storms strike!
booming voices
shattered the skies. burned the trees.
another one
gone
gone
gone
why?
no mink knows.

the spirit to live-
it is but a faded dream
the last goodbye.
it is but a candle left to burn out-

but not in my eyes.

Image

wide eyes, open ears
rain trickled down
my little face
yearning for love.
this life is all i could vision
in front of me.
droplets of water thrust
toward the forest floor
falling.
falling.
splash!
the sun sunk into the fresh mud.
i chased it.
drops of dew settled on the seedlings
striving for number one.
a smile stretched across my face.
my worn-out wet paws
stained with mud and blood
-and happiness.
i gave myself a name
a name i feel i belong to.
a name that speaks for itself.
a name that would make
my family proud if they knew
i was alive.
rain.

keep going, keep going.
last year's sandstorm easily whisked away the greenery
ripping away
at the years of building into the ground, years of establishing roots.
at the years of bonding, the years of effort.
rip. rip.
gone.
whisked away into the wind.
keep going, keep going.
for i am just alone,
left behind in the cold years ago
the cold absence of love.
they left.
my roots
torn away from the rocky soil
at the years of love, the years of family.
the years of warmth, the years of purity.
rip. rip.
gone.

you can't do it.
that's what everyone tells me
on and on.
common catchphrases
chasing tails
you fool!
let-downs
nothing can stop me.
spinning in circles mindlessly
you can't do it! you can't do it!
they're just visionaries
dreamers
shallow-minded
brushed off and neglected
rocketing to the skies
keep moving forward
they're just visionaries
but they're my way of life.

It might be a shorter poem, but I do love the meaning behind it. It flows quite nicely! Take care of your new Mink!
