Prompt:
"Excuse me, miss, do you need help?"
The Litten was staring into the gorge. It was obvious she needed to cross, and with the bridge out of order, there was very little land-dwelling Pokemon could do. The gorge was filled with thorny briars, and one mistake could send an unlucky Pokemon down.
"Absolutely not, thank you very much." the Litten replied snottily.
"Are you sure? 3 of our 4 members can fly. We could carry you." Bishop asked again.
"I can make that jump. Now, will you go bother someone else?" she replied rudely.
"Okay, fine. You could have said so nicely..."
A few minutes later, Fig heard yowling coming from the gorge. "I think our Litten friend got herself stuck. Guess she couldn't make the jump after all."
"Well, what are we waiting for? We've got to go help." Abigail said, turning around.
"Wait a minute. Are you sure? She got into that situation because she refused our help." Bishop pointed out. "Won't she refuse our help again?"
"I don't know, but we've got to go see."
They ran back to the gorge. Sure enough, the Litten who was looking into it before was not at the bottom of it, tangled in the thorns.
"Hey, do you need help now?" Bishop yelled down.
"No, I can get out."
She struggled to get free for a few minutes, scraping herself up even more. A while later, Bishop asked again.
"You need help now?"
The Litten sighed. "Fine, I guess."
Abigail, Bishop, and Fig flew down and landed on a part of the briar not covered in thorns. "Alright. I'd say Fig is the strongest flier here. Bishop said. "Now, we need to get this Litten untangled."
"I have a name, you know. It's Constance." She remarked.
"Alright, we need to get Constance out of these thorns. Let's get her as untangled as we can. Then, Fig will try to lift her as high as he can, while Abigail and I free the last thorns. Then, we'll join Fig and get you to safety."
"Alright. Sounds like a plan." Constance said. "Just make it quick, okay. I've got places to be."
"No promises."
Fig zipped through the thorns, untangling what needed to be untangled. Abigail took some thorns into he beak. Bishop pecked at some briar.
"Alright. I think we're good to go. Fig?"
"Got it." he said, grabbing Constance with his arms. "Now, Constance, you need to stay still, okay?"
Constance nodded. And, with that, Fig took flight.
Bishop and Abigail untangled some briar that was around Constance's paws.
"Will you hurry up? I can't hold her for much longer."
"Abigail, the last paw is up to you." Bishop flew up to help hold Constance.
Time passed. Abigail was still freeing Constance's last paw.
"Are you almost done? This is getting tiresome."
"Yeah. Give me a second." And, just like that, Constance was free. Abigail joined Bishop and Fig as they flew Constance to the top of the gorge, where Daisy was waiting for them.
"Well, I guess I should thank you." Constance said, starting to lick some of her scrapes. "But, I must ask. Why did you come back to save me when I specifically told you I didn't need help?"
"I guess it's just what we do." Fig said.
"Well, okay." she said. "That's enough adventuring for one day. I guess I'll have to get that Zubat's berry tomorrow."
"Wait, you're part of an exploration team?" Abigail asked.
"Correction. I am an exploration team. It's just me."
"Well, maybe you could join us." Abigail suggested. "You can't always rely on yourself."
"Yeah. No kidding. I learned that the hard way."
"Well, what do you say? Will you join us?"
"I guess I've got nothing better to do."
