It had just been Ribbit and his mother for as long as he could remember. They would never stay in one place too long, wanting to find somewhere that truly felt like a home. There were never any kits his age to play with, and Ribbit was forced to grow up faster than most kits would have. He had to learn responsibility in protecting himself and his mother from hostile cats, from hostile predators. He had to learn to hunt as soon as he was able to eat solid food.

It was strange, finally finding a place to call 'home.' There were cats for him to interact with, but he wasn't sure how. Finally, it was a game of tag from Demetri that loosened up the young trainee. A simple, "tag, you're it!" A squeal of laughter, and smaller paws skidding away from Ribbit. His eyes lit up with excitement, turning his head to his mother for reassurance. She nodded, encouraging him to go, and he did.

Playing was fun, and Ribbit finally got to feel like what it was to be a kit.

The moment almost always comes to Featherkit in dreams. She dreams of her family, or rather, what she remembers of them. Her mother, father, and two brothers are only blurs, but she remembers enough:

Featherkit and her brothers are pouncing on and swatting a feather while her parents watch on. The kits throw around comments of how they're the best hunters and no cat around can beat them- usually ending in bickering sessions and play fighting- but they always turned their attention back to the feather. After some time, Featherkit's mother would join in on the fun. The kits chase her around as she steals the feather away from them, a game which they creatively called "chase". Her father eventually stopped the feather thief and pulled her into a soft bed of leaves followed by the three giggling kits.

There the five cats were, laughing in a pile of leaves, a family. What Featherkit remembers most of all is the intoxicating sent of her parents and siblings. This is what truly sends a warm, tingly feeling through her body. It was a mixture of pine, petrichor, and vanilla. Featherkit knows this scent as her true home. Sometimes, when she tries hard enough, she can smell them again, and while she'll never leave her new home and family in GaleClan, she'll always dream of the time she meets her family once again to finish their game of chase.

Prompt: "Autumn, dear, wake up." A motherly voice cooed from above her bed. The kit rolled over onto her back, drawing out a soft groan as she gazed upwards at the figure.

"Ruby? What are we doing up so early... the sun ain't even up yet." Autumn asked, sitting up with a slight shiver. "And it's cold!"

"We're moving, dear. The Silvercrest have finally found our new home." Autumn's eyes lit up at this notion, and soon enough, her once groggy gaze shifted into pure energetic excitement.

Autumn, as quickly as she had waken up, had dozed back off in her mother's jaws. With the snow being too deep for her to tread on her own, Ruby had to carry her the entire way.

The party of cats slowly came to a halt, with a large dog named Bruno standing at the front, protectively fighting the small gusts of snow soaring towards his feline companions. "We are here." He said gruffly, though with a hint of excitement.

Autumn's eyes opened at this announcement, her body thrashing gently. "Mama, put me down!" She exclaimed, squealing when she was unexpectedly dropped. Autumn leaped up and darted forward, staring at the scenery before her.

The area was surrounded by pine trees and the occasional oak tree. Though the pine trees were dense, beautiful amounts of light peered through the spiky leaves.

Before Autumn directly was a cavern, with a series of flower embedded moss curtains. The scene was beautiful, and it was also the visual representation of her new beginning.
