By the time we realized her mother, Acacia, had laid and hatched her egg Arietty was at least two hours old and already moving quite well. We were careful as we approached, not wanting to scare her of course but needing to be sure she was alright. We needn't have worried though, Arietty came bouncing over to us, butting us with her head and almost falling over in her eagerness.
She was extremely curious about everything around her, including us, and watching her discover the world that first day was a memory that would always stick with us.
